i think you should be making the $4-$8 bet on the flop and then seeing how he reacts. as played he could have AK and be making a cbet or he could have AA/KK. if you bet the flop you leave him in a tough spot if he hasn't hit. you can fold if he raises on the flop. but if he has missed the flop then you're making it tough for him and he probs has to call/fold.
pf you know you're going into the flop behind. you'd wanna play the flop because of the good implied odds and because you have a fairly decent drawing hand. but you need to make sure you don't get sucked in when you hit TP.
i think you should probably fold on the flop as played. he showed so much strength preflop and it's unlikely he missed the flop. you could call on the flop and hope he checks the turn.
