No reads, I play it the same.... If he did catch the BB special, you still have outs, but more often than not I think you're ahead here. I'm guessing he's got 2 clubs.

I'd put him on a bluff also, trying to take down a low semi-coordinated board. I doubt a straight would bet the flop like that trying to scare you out of the pot, unless he is a smarter than average player, and can somehow put you on a set. My guess would be he has TPGK on the flop, two clubs, or a smallish PP that missed and he wants to take the pot down through aggression. Of which you are dominating all three, so the call is good, and I pay off the flopped straight or Rivered flush... You're ahead here too many times to lay this down.
    Hey knucklehead! Bonk!

Nice call. I like the reasons given by ChrisBCritter.

On the flop, I'm raising to $50 flat and if he re-raises I'm all in. Certainly less inclined to dink around without reads.

How is this better or worse than your line?

I play it the same except I raise to $40. (I am not sure why)
If he calls any non club I bet half his stack. If it's a club I treat my hand as a 10 out draw.
To win in poker you only need to be one step ahead of your opponents. Two steps may be detrimental.

    Love me for a season
I'm curious as to why you didn't re-reraise the flop.

I wanted to make sure he stayed in the hand with me. I put im on two pair or a higher PP and wanted to make sure he was on the leash.

Since he was the blind, I'd have put him on something like 6,2. I'm not getting away from this.

    trying not to die
That would be one monster raise from 53, I play it the same without a read but I make the raise (as said before) abit bigger. As you got position, let him hammer again on the turn.
