Default line check - attempt at pot control with top two and callers

Does anyone hate my turn check, river call with top 2 pair? I was trying to keep the pot small and induce a river bluff from a weaker hand after the likely draw hit

Villain is 69/8 over 25 hands, no reads

    Blinds: $0.12/$0.25

    Hero: $22.01
    UTG+1: $65.99
    MP1: $24.5
    MP2: $51.17
    MP3: $54.68
    CO: $11.96
    Button: $22.75
    SB: $24.75
    BB: $24.25

Pre-flop: (9 players) Hero is UTG with Qd A♣
Hero raises to $1, 6 folds, SB calls, BB folds.

    Flop: 10♠ Q♠ 3♣ ($2.25, 2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $2, SB calls.

    Turn: A♠ ($6.25, 2 players)
    SB checks, Hero checks.

    River: 5d ($6.25, 2 players)
    SB bets $2, Hero calls.

    Can you explain why plz?

My reasoning on the turn check was that I don't beat enough decent hands that call my flop bet. The only hands I'm beating are Q10 (which would probably raise on the flop with the flush draw out I think), and smaller pp's. I'm losing to slowplayed sets, the obvious flush, and KJ.

I would have bet the turn with a non-spade ace but as it was there was too much that could beat me. Thoughts?

No. You're ahead of so much of villians range here you should be raising turn like $4-5. Villian could be holding QJ/JJ/A10/KQ, smaller pp.
She looked at me and said youz a baby right?

I'd check this turn in my game.

As played, I'd rase the river to $6 and probably fold to a push. I don't think we're stuck in this pot and his bet looks weak=weak the way this hand played out.

    No hindsight for the blind.
I agree with check turn, raise river. Even though we are ahead of his range on turn it doesn't mean that we should bet. A turn bet will likely chase out alot of hands that will bet or check call a blank river.

When a villains' check raise attempt on turn fails, he'll likely bet more than 1/3 pot on the river. A bluff will also tend to be bigger, while a marginal hand often makes a small blocking bet. So I raise looking to get a call from one of these hands. The only marginal hands that beat us here are straights and sets, and these tend to lead the turn.

Of course, with 69vpip he could be a total donk with anything.
