Default Made the straight, need the value

Villain is a total rock. He plays 7% of hands and ive never seen him raise preflop before. He always has an overpair here or I guess maybe the Jacks. I think I should have had most of his stack here.

Make the turn 5, make the river 12.

As a total r0ck, I put him on QQ, KK, AA...and play it the same way. The only way you are getting a big river bet on him is if he hit trip J's. Also, although he's a rock, did you have a read on him that he can lay down a hand? If he can't, I might have bet $12+.

Bet more on the turn, as played I think the river is fine since you are betting for value.

Never read any stickies or announcements
so he always has an overpair and you're betting $3 into the $8 pot on the turn?

Good point. A strong turn bet could set you up for a bigger bet/call on the river, particularly if he has AA, KK.

hmm... I thought if I made a weak stealy type bet he might raise. In the same position now I think id make it $6 and another 2/3 on the river.
