I see now I could have gotten out of the 2nd one, with the board pair, but of course he one with AJd's. HAd a good run going until these two hands and another QQ getting beat by pocket 2's wipe out my winnings. FRICK!!!

    Ouch, ouch, ouch.

    Both are tough.

1st hand: I can't find a fold. He's slowplaying something big on the flop, but it could still be a smaller overpair instead of a set. Please tell me it wasn't 45s. I could live with a set of tens.

2nd hand: Hmmm. Damn that board pairing sucks. Suddenly your king high flush doesn't look so hot now that the boat is out there. I might be able to find a fold here, but damn it is tough. I'm not so sure I'd have slowplayed a non-ace high flush, but that's just me.

Next time don't tell us you lost

First hand, I think you played fine. you had no reason to believe your AA wasn't good on the turn. $30 to call the pot, you have to.
Sorry to hear you got sucked out by 54s Probably TT or 44, he flopped a set.

The second one, thats one of the perils of slow playing. i can't slow play a non nut flush. With the preflop raise, i'm going to guess Kings full?

$85 to call a $60 pot.. I'm a bit rusty in NL but this would be a tough crying call to make.

I think we'll have to start a new category for hands like this, the crying fold.

    My 2cents:

AA: I think it was a bit overplayed. The preflop looks ok. It looks like your intent is to bet the pot on the flop and turn bet. However, by the turn.. you already pot commited and wont be able to fold in any situation. If your mindset with AA is to risk all your chips HtoH once the flop hits, I think thats a bit aggressive. I normally dont think of the big bets unless I have 2pair, trips, etc.. With these hands I dont mind going all-in. Personally, I would of bet 1/3 -1/2 the pot on the flop, and something similiar on the turn. It gives you a little more room to decide if an all-in bet occurs on the turn

The question would be: What would slow you down or what situations would allow you to get away from the hand? Its hard to get away from any hand once your pot commited...

2hand: Much better hand than AA if another diamond doesnt drop can be played a bit more aggressively. I wouldnt mind going all-in in this situation. I might have check/raise the turn...

Lost the 1st one to Trip 10's, to a compete Lagg he could of had anything. I consider this one to be pure bad luck.

The 2nd one I lose to Ace high Flush to another complete LAgg (76% Flops seen) He mixed it well he had AJ of diamonds, normally he would have raised to 15 with that hand, this time he limps. I have no problems limping with the "almost nut flush" he had to have the ace to beat me. I should have folded the the river because of the board pair, thinking maybe he had flopped a set and the 2nd 8 gave him a boat. But like I said he was a complete maniac moron. So calling im sure was positive EV. I figured he had top pair is all, with his betting. I must be getting good psycholigically because I'm able to not change my play and go on tilt, which 5 or 6 months ago would have been impossible.

Yes it really sucked, but on to more fishing the deep waters looking for large fish and whales.

If you took those two beats that close together and didn't tilt, you are pretty much tilt-proof. I'd have quickly left both tables, quietly shutdown the computer, and then looked for something to break.

Obviously I've still got a ways to go as far as tilt control is concerned, but it's coming.

I dont know why my fricken streaks are so steep. Just lost consecutive hands on 200NL KK vs a3s to a guy who called $130 total thru pf and flop and turn to hit an ace on river? #@&^@@$!! Its fricken rigged. How else do explain that? Very next hand on my $100 table KK vs K7 I raise to $7 with 3 callers flop is 7 j 2 rainbow and i bet $30 one caller turn is 5. I go allin about $50 he calls river is 7. #&^#^&%#$ UNREAL What do you do?? Id have the fricken HH but UB fricken sucks when it comes to that BS.

Sounds like it's time for JM's T5s hand history that spawned the avatar!

People do stupid stuff. You have have lost $50 on this hand. But think of how many hundreds of dollars yo have won on that stupid play.

Hopefully that will give you SOME comfort.
I don't know what they have to say
    It makes no difference anyway.
    Whatever it is...
    I'm against it.

You really don't want to hear this right now, but that pre-flop call with 77 is somewhat borderline. The raiser doesn't have a deep enough stack for implied odds, so you have to feel that he's capable of raising with a lot of non-pocket pair hands to justify calling with the chance that you're up against a much better hand pre-flop (which you were). At least you're going to have post-flop position on him, but this is still a pre-flop fold IMO.

That being said, OUCH! How many suck outs can one guy suffer?!?

    Get well soon, golfer.
  16. #16
1st hand there's nothing you can do--just one of the perils of correctly playing big pairs aggressively. 2nd hand there's no way I'm laying down that 2nd nut flush unless a fourth diamond comes or the board pairs. Since the board did pair on the end, I think I might have laid it down just because you had to call away a lot of your stack and are not getting great pot odds, though it is tough to put him on T8, K8, TT, KK, 88, or nut flush. If I had played this hand, I think I would have put in a raise by the turn, probably a pot-sized check-raise on the flop hoping someone was ready to go broke with two-pair or even a pair and nut draw. I don't want to have to deal with the fourth diamond falling because 1. I have to worry about Ad, and 2. I'm not going to get any action on my pat flush from anyone without at least the Jd. If anyone played back on the flop or turn, I wouldn't hesitate to get all my money in. So, I don't think you neccessarily could have avoided losing your money on this hand (barring a tough river laydown), but by playing the hand the way I reccommend you would have got all your money drawing dead earlier (well actually, on the flop you'd have a possible running SF draw).
