    There are a handful of regulars at my stakes against whom I like this line, because i know they know I usually don't fire a second barrell without some kind of hand. Not many though. I take it you had a specific read. if they call the first barrell...

    btw fnord i thought you were an advocate of pot control with AK? I raise to 7 preflop here.

    My opponent here was at around a 50% VP$IP

    I just didn't think he had the balls to follow through with his missed over-cards or small pair or whatever.

    I agree with panther here. In my experience this hasn't worked out though, unless an A/K/Q comes on the turn.

    Also, against a loose/passive you could win showdown unimproved.
