Default Need help with 2 QQ hands.....

Hand 1)...No reads on this guy other than he bluffed off a whole buy-in with AK.......so he may have been on tilt, but not positive. Should I be giving him credit for KK, AA here, or is it most likely some mediocre holding like AQ, AK, KQ....etc.....I wanted to call, but couldnt bring myself to do it.

Hand 2)....I played this hand terrible....This was 3 hands after Hand 1 against same opponent....so I didnt want to have to make the same decision I geuss...maybe a small case of tilt. I put myself in a bad position....Should I have reraised and faced the same AI from villian, or do I see how he likes the flop?

    1) Fine fold in my opinion, you wouldn't be hated on for calling either though. I give him credit for AA/KK here with no reads all day long.

    2) If you're just calling the raise preflop, I'd definitely go for a checkraise on the flop, the raiser is bound to bet out if it is checked to him, so you had a perfect opportunity.

    Thanks 4 the replies.....

On Hand 2) I geuss Im not very skilled of when or where to use a check-raise....I see how this situation would have been profitable with a c/r, but what are you looking for in a good opportunity to c/r.

Checkraises are good in situaitons like this as dwarfman pointed out: you're calling a preflop raise, which makes your op the aggressor and will most likely bet out. I'm much less likely to go for a checkraise on a board with a flush draw or a high straight draw (unless I think op sometimes raises with middle suited connectors then I'll be wary of straight draws in general) just in case it gets checked around. Usually though, the preflop raiser will bet out... but I don't like taking that chance.

He's got enough of a read to call here. If the other guy has AA/KK, you're paying it off 7 out of 8 times. Oh well.

C/R when you think the other guy will bet, but not likely call or raise a worse hand if you bet.

hand 1 is a perfect example of why a re-raise with QQ preflop is so useful, he came over the top and you can fold to what i consider aa or kk most the time. this is why I also re-raise AK preflop.

Only when I see them doin this play with AK AQ AJ (you know them type of players) then i call with QQ but only with a strong read. If you flat call preflop you may of lost alot of chips post flop against aa/kk.

Hand 2, Ops stack is ~5.35 at the turn where the pot is 3.40. Your turn bet of $3 commits you to the pot. If he pushes you have to call ~$2.35 into a ~$11/$12 pot - pot odds if I ever saw them.

In this situation i would leave wiggle room. We're still not sure how strong his hand really is/how much he likes it... he may have kk/aa and with that raggy flop choose to slowplay. I try and think of the perfect bet where you dont look weak but can fold to a push. In this case a $2 bet will make the pot ~$5.40, so if he pushes it will be roughly a pot re-raise giving you 2-1 odds... then its time to make a decision - only likely hands you beat are JJ, A9 and a bluff.
