A relatively big raise to like 4 may actually be good, though, since this stake is full of stations.

NL is all about building pots. When you hit a hand you should look at stack sizes and figure out how to get the money in. This can be done quite a few ways in raised pots because generally you can miniraise a decent size bet on the flop and still be able to get the money in. In this hand if you just call you're going to have to get in $8.75 in a $3.25 pot on the river and that's going to be difficult especially if he has a draw. If you raise to $3.50 and he calls the pot will be $8.25 on the river with stacks at $6.25 which makes it alot easier to get the money in because that's only one bet.

This hand is a bit extreme because of the small stack but I want you to realize what I'm saying. If he has $15 just calling here is a disaster because you'll have a $3.25 pot and $13.75 left to bet and unless he hits his draw or has KQ you're never getting it. Remember if the pot is small (esp. on the turn) to play very straight forward.

I raised to $3.50, scooped the pot there and then. But at least I gave myself a chance to stack him!
