    Default Playing Aces

Lately im playing AA a little different. Before, i just put in a big raise (about 6-8 BB) and hoped for one caller. This worked pretty good and i took down small to medium pots.

Now i'm going to raise 3-4 BB (or whatever the standard-raise of the table is) and i often get 2 sometimes 3 caller. After the flop i'll drop the hammer and it's fun to see someone calling with top pair. Sure, my Aces get cracked from time to time but i found this way of play more profitable to me.

So what do you think about that?

I think raising 7/8bbs sucked in the first place
but then some others RECOMMEND playing them thatta way
me 4bbs then play from there, i cant see how you get any action with a 7bbs raise

I make my standard raises higher. My standard preflop raise is 6-8xBB. I especially do that on a table with 100xBB stacks. I have a lot of postflop confidence, and trust my reads.

    6-8xBB...
    25NL / $1.5 - $2
    50NL / $3 - $4
    100NL / $6 - $8

Does that seem unrealistically high to anyone? Not to me. At first I get folds, but eventually people play back at me when they realize it's my standard. It has the effect of protecting my hands from implied connectors and low pockets a little bit.

Sit at a table and raise 47o to 8xBB. Show it then do the same thing again. You'll get action trust me. The way I see it, if it's going to take a while to get action on my higher standard anyway, then I might as well set up image while I wait.
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.
