Default Probably easy fold, but is my thinking backwards?

My very first hand at the table.

What about this line? My thinking with the cr is that while I think I have the best hand right now, if I bet say $0.60 -$0.80, anyone with a fd or some reasonable piece of the board will call, making the pot huge for the turn and there is obviously a greater chance I will be outdrawn. By cr I will either win the pot now or be hu on the turn. Is this classic tournament player syndrome? What's the best line here against an unknown who is presumably a donkey?

Holdem No Limit - $0.2 BB

    Button ($14.10)
    SB ($5.93)
    BB ($40) [Hero]
    UTG ($18.30)
    MP ($62.91)
    CO ($13.30)

Hero is BB with A, T
    Preflop: (6 players, $0.3)
UTG calls $0.20, 2 folds, Button calls $0.20, SB calls $0.10, Hero checks

    Flop: 5, 7, A (4 players, $0.8)
SB checks, Hero checks, UTG checks, Button bets $0.40, SB folds, Hero calls $0.40 and raises $1.35, UTG folds, Button calls $1.35 and raises $12.15 and is All-In, Hero times out trying to decide what to do.

I think you have a bad hand to c/r here. I think either leading or c/c is better. And yes, with no reads, you absolutely have to fold here.

Unraised pot with top pair and weakish kicker being reraised by the button after you showed big strength with a check raise. Fold that biotch.

Under what circumstances is a check raise a good idea?

    To be honest, a c/r isn't a move I use too much:

That's 50 times out of my last 20k hands. And the funny thing about it, my winrate while c/r is 94%. Most of the time it's on the turn when I flop a monster, and check the turn making it look like I missed (great move I learned here!). But after looking at some of my flop c/r (17 total) most of them are picking off cbets with a semi bluff, or checking to an loose-agg donk with a big hand. But like I said, I don't do it much.
