    Default Re-raising UTG raiser w/JJ NL50

Villain was mostly quiet, seemed solid enough, but I was only there for 1.5 orbits at the table.

    dirtFreshly ???

I thought I'd try out Dmitri's line here by re-raising someone to test for AA/KK. Since there just a call, I could make AA/KK less likely... I was worried here after his check raise about QQ or a slowplayed AA/KK.

A call probably means that we're going AI, a fold could be weak. Can I be sure enough of my jacks + fold equity to push?

    Your move here?

clear fold with the check-raise on the flop.

You fold it. You have to remember you reraised preflop. Your opponent respects your high pocket potential most likely, and still punched back hard. Your opponent is slowplaying the goods. KK or AA all day.
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

    Default Feel your pain

I agree it's an automatic fold. This has been (and I still struggle with it) one of the biggest leaks in my game. The last time it happened I lost my whole stack. Part of my problem is playing the players rather than watching the signs closely, I was in LP at 100.00 NL, one awful player raises to 6X the BB ($6.00) he had one caller (also very weak) and I raised to $20.00 with QQ trusting to take it down right there. He called with 66. The other player folded. Flop came down with 2 clubs and a 6. He checked to me and , knowing from observation he loved draws, I bet $50.00 which was close to a pot sized bet. He went all in and I had another $40.00 - 50.00 dollars, which I stupidly threw in, and no I didn't hit my two outer.

As discussed by others, when you are the preflop raiser and you get check raised on the flop, including AK when an A or K lands, you know that the player has put you on a high pair and is fully confident he can beat you. I still find this is the hardest lay down for me, I've got to get over knowing I was way ahead pre flop but I'm going down to an unknown hand. This is one of the unique difficulties of playing on line poker. If it was live you would have to stop, evaluate your stack and then physically push the chips into the middle. Online, it's one angry mouse click, because you are so horrified the stupid idiot is doing this to you.

That's why I have a several blow up mistresses set up around me with poke her faces as I play online. That way when I have to make a tough decision, I can sit back and evaluate how lucky I am to have so many willing girlfriends instead of impulsively clicking my stack away.

    himself fucker.
    yes, an obvious fold.

An even more obvious flat call preflop since a "quiet opponent"s UTG raising range is bigger pairs and bigger suited cards.

i like the re-raise as it might buy the hero a free turn card if need be.

If you're rasing here for a free card on the turn then you are playing it wrong.
TheXianti: (Triptanes) why are you not a thinking person?
