Default Read based push. Too risky?

Here are my notes on Derv:

loves suited cards. plays for any flush/straight. will play mid/low pairs to river to chase

bets his draws very hard. Limp calls with any old shit (75% saw flop). Limp called 53s. On OESD board, bet pot then reraised a raise. On turn he pushed. Does shit like this often. Is very aggro and semi-bluffs often.

So, given that, when he bet the pot in the below hand, i figured he didn't have that much, so I push. Didn't think he would call, but he did anyway... too risky a play? maybe reraise to $25?

yeah you have a strong read on him but pushing allin is probably a little too much. i agree though you could reraise pretty big like 20-25

Rofl, 2 orbits later I destack him again with trips against his flush draw. He buys in short once more and I take that too. Fish = 0, Rob = $150. gg me

    Oh my
    I love you.
Ugly ugly play but great read in this case, but ill do this to you all day long and make lots of money off you. In this case opp played it bad, id check raise the flop pushing the turn knowing you didnt hit that turn and asking you to play for stacks with nothing.

I wouldn't play it like that against you though... guess it was too risky

This play is a mistake. I see way too many people making this mistake. You don't have to put all your chips in the middle to take a pot down or bluff. This isn't televised and you don't get extra points for saying allin. You are simply risking too much money. A raise is fine if you want to do that because you have a strong read but you don' thave to put all of it in the middle.

You realize, you got the way worst of this, right?

Putting people on hands, getting reads, etc. good though.

Given the read, I think folding and calling (looking to turn screw a draw) are the plays here.

Why not raise and then see if the turn is blank before pushing?

Do you think he will call with 77 here?

You would need to put opp on overs for 7's to call. Tough choice if you get raised here. Thats why its often better to check raise here. It makes you look serious and it makes opp declare the strength of his hand. So betting into the opp here with nothing is asking for trouble. If he has a set here its lovely play but he doesnt. The read while utter gambOOl is good which again shows why the checkraise puts AQ to the test. You need balls of steel to read and then reraise the check raised oesd here.

    Yes

I've been working on getting solid reads recently. Been taking notes on every play I see and am no longer playing more than 2 tables (max).

Why fold though? I still have the edge here, even if it is slight

    Hand 2: 47.0202 % 46.57% 00.45% { 8c7c }

I don't think calling is really an option, because I think he is pushing here on any card on the turn...
