Pretty deep. Villain and I have been taking some shots at each other but nothing exciting has happened really. He's solid, and I think i recognize the SN so probably a 2p2 type.

    We're deep, not quite 300bb.

First of all you have the 3rd nuts but yes, you're right, you have the practical 1st nuts other than QdJd. Ontop of this your hand is very nicely hidden.

I minraise (seems bad) or make close to a minraise here. There are plenty of hands that will call here and plenty of hands besides straight that could conceivably stack off here as well (sets, AT, etc...).

Yeah, I think QJ calls you on the flop too.

Cry and call. No need to play a big pot in this spot against this opponent.

Third nuts. I dont see him limping QJ/J7. In fact I think his river bet is pure air about 85% of the time.

Air isn't giving you any more action that you'll want.

Right. Cry calling here sucks but it's correct.

Shoving is interesting for metagame, though.

shoving would be just a slight overbet.

Shoving is slight overbet? Not even close. 270bb deep, no preflop 3 bet, not postflop raises; no way shoving is a slight overbet.

This is not a raise, but also not a crying call. Your line is often a bluff inducer. Sometimes what you beat will call a raise. Call and don't complain.

I've made calls like this on less coordinated boards with middle pair and have been right.
