    Default scared jacks

dunno if images exist, FWIW i'm running 20-17-5ish and villain is playing classic "i hope i get a set or pairs, cos poker is difficult". My flop bet was simply to drop any non-ace hand and get an idea of where I stood - after repping a decent hand pre I guessed it would be enough for a fold. Thoughts?

Bet $3.50 on the flop if you're going to bet. I wouldn't bet turn or river either. It's closer if the turn isn't a Queen.

Bet so that all hands you beat fold, and ones you don't call? AWESOME

Once the flop hits, check it down. Villian slowplays a flopped flush so he thinks you do to. Maybe try for one street of value if you improve, maybe not.

Good point. C-bets are I guess about folding hands you beat, and some hands that you don't beat.

well, I have an ok flush draw going on too. And QQ folds here, I was actually expecting villain to show Th+an ace or a badly played 55. 3-betting in this pond pre-flop is almost unheard of, generally people expect to see AA/KK and only call with a pocket pair, or occasionally some broadway hand. I think villain was expecting me to hold AA and hoped to take me out with a turned flush. I was looking forward to a river heart. Was a little surprised when villan showed down 77 with a heart.

You did bet small so he'll call with more pair+fds. Part of why i prefer checking down is because it's then more difficult for you to get out played by the worst hand.

Bet more on the flop for balance.

    Otherwise it's pretty standard.
