Stats or reads would help a lot. They could be playing into weakness (hand 1) or not believing you hit the flop (hand 2). Odds are they're not making moves like that though.

So what hands call the 2/3 pot bet in #1 then raise an overcard on the turn, then pot the river? I think it's a good laydown vs a likely set. But yea, a river block bet would help.

#2 could be a lot because of the min pfr... The raise over your c/r looks like you're way behind to a set or donkey big pair, with less odds you being way-ahead. You're also OOP, and assuming no reads, you'll be facing bigger bets on the turn/river. Folding seems weak since it's a min raise, but it's prob the best.

Side note...I woulda led the flop in #2 without a read, such as he raises a semi-wide range and always c-bets but gives up or become passive if raised or called. With no reads, if he raises my flop bet more than the min, I'd prob fold, but this saves some vs a check/raise line..why check/raise if you plan to fold to a 3-bet? I also usually raise 99 UTG but that's debatable...it might've helped define his hand though if villain 3-bet pre flop vs min-raised.

In the first hand that guy was Tag and i catched him slowplaying a couple of hands,and the second hand i had no reads on him except he seemed abit tight.
And the reason i folded was because a raising a checkraise usually means they have really good hands and my overpair was clearly not good enough.
Also a couple of hands before that hand i got aces folded around to my 6xbb raise 2 times in like 5 hands.Maybe they thought i was bluffing but then again any card higher then 9 could probably beat me if i wsnt beat already wich and i was OOP.

I think they're both good laydowns. As stated above, no one raises a checkraise w/out a monster. Also, I don't see the point of a blocking bet on #1. When has anyone ever minraised you on the turn with a hand that TP beats?

I see what you're saying about check/raising in #2. I'm still not sure if leading is better. One loses a smaller pot OOP and doesn't give potential free cards, the other captures a c-bet and defines their hand better...

(edit) block betting the river helps against certain players (prob not the one in this hand) since calling a min raise then checking induces bluffs, and gets value from hands like TT-QQ or Kx pairs. An alternative is to just fold to the turn raise against that kind of player (TAG that slow plays) but I'd prob play it like hero given that read...that could be a leak though.

I think leading is better. Hero is OOP with a marginal hand--pot control is in order here.

Hand 1 I was going to say I dont believe his set, until I read that you caught him slowplaying some hands before...would have folded as well then.

Hand 2: I check/call that flop and play a turn. I used to think this was a monster line, then I saw a few people showdown stuff like AK, AQ and KQ in this spot. So I guess what I'm saying is that your flop line turns your hand into 72o. Even if called, you can't feel great about following through.

I think both were good laydowns.
