Default Set on Three Suited Board

Below is a hand from tonight's no limit hold'em session. My opponent is a fellow grinder who is loose aggressive. He seems to always be looking for an opportunity to steal the pot. Very frequent raises and reraises. I have been at the table for about an hour and me and this opponent butted heads once before. I was in the small blind with 82. The board was K85. I bet the flop he called. The turn was a 4 (K854). I bet out and he min raised me. I folded.

The game is $1/$2 No Limit Hold'em - Venetian, Las Vegas

I'm dealt 9h 9d in early position with $280. Opponent is in late position and has me covered by $30.

I raise $12 and get two callers. $36 in the pot.

    Flop As 9s 5s

I bet out $25 and the first caller folds. My opponent raises $25. Pot $111

I raise $50. My opponent raises me another $50. Pot is now $286.

The thing about this raise is he meant to raise $100. But instead of pushing out one stack of $100 he pushed out one $50 stack and quickly pushed the second $50 stack out with the same hand. He appeared to want to push out both stacks but the dealer chimed in and stated string bet and he could only raise $50.

The pot now contains $286 and I have $168 remaining. My options are to fold, call $50, or reraise all in. Remember my opponent has me covered.

    How would you play this?

This might be out of habit. I usually multiply someone's bet by 3. I know it probably isn't the best strategy. He raised $25 so I stuck in $75. Would you have stuck in $100 or more?

A 3x his raise would be to 150. I would have made it like 150-175 i think.
