It's fine.

Your opponent may have made a mistake with the weak flop bet, raising is passing on that in hopes of getting him to make an even bigger one. Quite often I just put my money in the bank here. Particularly with a weak draw.

This isn't really that tricky it's done so often. You're also vastly under-estimating the number of times he 3-bets or donks the turn.
