Should I have gone with my gut? (2hands)

Hand 1). Villain was 35/4. Small c-bet + rr all in on flop really had me thinking AA. I made a crying call. My gut really felt AAA, but my brain told me too often this is AK at 25NL, so I called. If I had re-raised PF, would I have been able to get away from this?? Or is Set v Set just something I have to pay off?

Hand 2). Dumb, ugly hand where I crying called on the turn thinking "if I improve I get his stack". I had a strong feeling of set/straight on river, but called anyway like a donk. Of course if a 3rd diamond fell there is no guarantee that i get his stack as is..

i dont think you can not get your money in on either of these hands.

1 suggestion - raise more on the flop on the k6s hand. you want to build a nice pot with this hand. bet more on the turn

Hand 1 sucks but I call there every time. I get surprised enough by what the villains turn over that there is just no way to fold anything that good.

Hand 2. Raise more on the flop. I add the little min bet to the pot size and make my normal size flop bet. 2/3ish. His block bet succeeds if you play the flop for less. Some villains do this with big hand but usually its a longshot draw.

Re-raise hand 1 preflop then see how it goes. Prolly still going broke regardless.

I find a lot of the players on the 25NL tables on Pokerroom raise their aces a little harder than they would with another hand. Notice how he's the first in the pot and he raises 6xBB instead of the standard 4x? It's a good tell I've found. Not to say you can fold this though. I'd definately go broke here but I would follow it up with a "I knew it! Fucker!!"

Good point with the 6xbb first in pf bet. Isnt it fishy he bets only 4xbb on the flop, then RR AI? I really dont see him having less than AA. I suppose he could have had AK. Everyone is saying they'd go broke so I guess I did the right thing in that hand.

Are you serious? You fold to a min-raise on the (edit: big blind)? Even with 7.5 bb's in the pot already?

I pretty much always call in this situation, perhaps its a leak. I'd like to hear more on this subject. I have a hard time folding this spot.

And yeah my c/r on the flop is pretty atrocious. Not sure what I was thinking.

i dont see any problem in calling preflop when your getting 7/1 odds

I also think pf call is fine in #2, but flop is spew city. as posted, bet or check/raise closer to pot size on the flop, or else just check/call for your pot odds.

A set or something seems likely on the turn but you're getting odds to call again.

The river call is kinda tough. the way it was played out (would K3/K4/KQ play this way?) I think you're usually facing a bluff or something better than what you have, but bluffs are not too frequent so probably it's a (tough) fold.

Hand 1 is fine.

Hand 2 I don't mind the c/r (4 BBs? ojnos) because you want to build a decent pot for your diamond draw. However you have to keep in mind WHY you c/r... for the FLUSH. When it doesn't come you have to be ready to dump to significant aggression. Remember why you're playing certain cards. When I stopped playing A9s for stacks on 9 high non flush boards is when I started become a better player.
