Should've pushed the gas on the turn?

I had this guy read perfectly on AQ or AK, so I decided to slowplay my AJ and let him give me money. However when the 3rd club came out I probably should have checkraised him, because the 4th club scared me and cost me the pot since he had AK, with the Kc. However, I think I would've just lost more money checkraising because with either the nut or 2nd nut flush draw I don't think there was any chance of him going away. Did I do the right thing or should I have pushed?
