Last night in a MPT satellite I figured I would give slowplaying the AA a try. My first attempt failed bad, preflop I raised the pot (30/60) to 150 preflop. To my disgust, 7 of the other 8 at my table called. To make things worse the flop comes 5, 6, 7 all hearts (which I was not holding Ah) and the BB raises 700. Smelling defeat, I tucked my tail between my legs and mucked the bulls.

Same tourney, and shortly after with the blinds still at 30/60, I get yet another AA in the pocket. This time not wanting to be slaughtered again, I PFR too 500. Everyone folds *Sigh*

Later in the same tourney, I got AA in the pocket, but this time when the stakes where much higher. Here is the history of these that I slowplayed and manged to clean house.

Funny thing in this second example, Paralyzer was slowplaying his trip 3's being almost certain noone held pocket AA's (cause who does a 2x PFR with AA) hehehe me!

I recieved AA once more late in the tourney, but the stakes where to high to let just anyone see the flop, (1000/2000) I raised to 10k, had one all in caller who held AK and blew his doors off.

My question for the critics is slow playing AA early in a tourney worth it?

I saw two others slow play the AA that tourney, both ended up out of the tourney as a direct result of slow playing the bulls because they couldn't lay down after someone drew a better hand.

One fella did the same as me, and only 2X the blinds PFR. he had a mit full of callers. With 2 diamonds on the flop he had one guy betting into him, AA called. Turn comes with the 3rd diamond, both held about 100k in chips, the better bet 5k, AA shows his colours and goes over the top with 20k, better All-ins, AA all-ins, better shows 47d and AA was blown out of the tourney.

The other one was just as bad even later in the tourney.
AA again only 2x blinds (3000/6000) has 2 callers. flop comes all low cards, rainbow, no strt, think it was 3 7 9. AA checks, one of the callers raises 12k, sensing a sucker with a low pair or 9s, AA calls, turn comes with a K. AA again checks, the caller raises again 12k, this time AA figures he earned enough slow playing his AA and goes over the top of caller going all-in, caller calls and shows his pocket 3s and takes AA out of the tourney.
