Default Someone please explain the hit and run stragegy for me.

Som guys seem to think its a great idea to buy in for like half a buyin, then try to double up and leave as soon as u do. Or with a min buyin doing the same. Even see some guys do it with a full buyin.

Why are ppl doing this ????

    Someone please enlighten me.

Theyr scared to play poker with a stack or wtf ??

    himself fucker.
Becuase they're bad at poker. Or they feel it gives them some edge.

I don't think it gives you any sort of edge worth exploiting.

I have done this 3 times.. and it was because of other outside reasons that i was forced to leave. As far as buying in short, i really think its stupid.. reduces your winnings when you hit a hand..

    i win pot
villain: **** this, this site is bullshit, ******* rigged, suck out ****

I do this all the time at 10NL (even though I now play 25NL) for a few reasons:

    1) You're a lot more likely to call that person's all in with a hand you wouldn't call them with if they had a stack
    2) They want to be annoying
    3) They want to be annoying
    4) It is actually good fun

i do this sometimes for a few reasons, mainly after a bad beat, if i push with the best hand and lose, i'll take whatever chips i have left to a new table or if 've none left i'll buy in short for about 10-25$ and then proceed to win back the buy in i just lost. if i lose this i quit, its like bankroll rebuild/damage limitation. if i reach my target i change tables and start fresh and if i lose the shortstack i quit for a few hours. other times if i've got say 1225$ i'll take the 25$ and leave a nice round number in my account and see what i can do with the 25$.

edit: i found dwarfmans nl challenge think i'm gonna try that tomorrow

Many buy in short because a LOT of players assume that someone that buys in short is REALLY REALLY bad.

I know i'll call a shortstacks all in before i'll call an all in from anyone elses.

Thats a good valid reason to buy in short...

THough I prefer to be the big stack

    Q. Is poker Gambling?
    A. Do you use correct bankroll management?
