If you are aren't finding it very fun I would just play less each day and take 2 days off each week.

I play about 1.5 hours each day on average and with that amount of time put in I find myself trying to prove to that I can still make money at poker, and since I'm not playing for 4+ hours each day, I don't really get tired of it.

I have a full time job but I'm planning to play poker when I'm done with my Americorps contract, but even then I don't want to play all that much or I will get burnt out.

Spoon - I've read several of your posts to date, and most have been pretty insightful and helpful to my game. I see what you're trying to do here, but I'm pretty sure you'll soon find out why it won't help your game.

I graduated from 2NL about 6months ago. I ran at 20ptbbs over 40k+ hands.. basically crushed that level, and stayed there longer than I should have. But to do that I was playing a LPA game.. which I think is optimal for these stakes. You have to take every reasonable opportunity to be involved in pots as the implied odds are huge - i.e. stacking villians is easier than taking candy off a baby.

But that strategy doesn't work for very long. At 5NL I tightened up a bit to run at 12ptbb despite running pretty bad. At 10NL I'm at 10ptbbs over a smallish sample. Basically your game has to adapt towards TAA as you move up to play optimally against the changing opposition.. despite what everybody says about pre-25NL players sucking hardcore, the truth is they suck visibly less and less. I'm not convinced that a 2NL game will contribute much to your 200NL play.

    Thoughts? Sorry about the ramble.

I think someone said this is a level, but if it's not this is extremely stupid. I'm not sure why you made the thread either???

It was indeed a level, and it would have been pretty stupid. Part of the fun was seeing if anyone would be like OMFG AWESOME IDEA.
