Default Strange Development in 2-5 NL

ok... B&M, 2-5 NL, 9 handed, Not a lot of pre flop raising going on. I'm going to break this down into two steps because I want to see what you guys think I have (as tho u are villain).

I have approx $500 (been playing tight for 45 minutes or so) Everyone is adequately stacked here... I know nobody at the table, only glaring play has been UTG (he's young, dumb, and full of cum) playing quite aggressive poker, to his somewhat detriment thus far.(he's hooked)

UTG and 2 others call BB in front of me.
Hero (yipee, that's me) calls from MP
    Button calls
    SB raises to $10
    BB calls
    UTG calls
other 2 call and now it's on me...

I make it $80 to go
button folds, SB folds (while laughing), BB folds
    UTG calls
    Others fold.

    Heads up to the flop

What range do you have for Hero here??? How about UTG???

To me, that's kind of a strange play for hero. In middle position and three limpers, I'd expect a raise with a good hand like TT-AA, AK, but then there's a min raise and now hero 3 bets it 16x to go. The stack to pot ratio is about 2.3. Until I see more action, I'd put hero on at least TT-AA, AK, which would make sense for the re-raise, and the SPR that's been created, but not so much the initial limp. Maybe hero has some suited connectors, pocket pairs, or Axs since the table showed weakness and has been playing tight, it's a good situation to chase out some dead money and go heads up with a weaker player OOP (the one who called) and/or the min raiser who is also OOP or possibly get everyone to fold and win a small pot right there. However, most of those hands don't play well in a pot this big, so to pull this off, hero really has to feel good about outplaying an aggressive villain on the flop.

As for UTG, you said he's "young" and "dumb" and has been playing "aggressively" to his "detriment" so far. If he's been aggressive, on all streets, it's probably safe to eliminate TT-AA and AK and more likely to put him on hands like Ax, two Broadway cards, suited connectors, or smaller pocket pairs.

I think ranges pre-flop are pretty broad even with good reads and even more broad with less reads. We need more reads and street action to narrow it down further, but it's a start.

I'd think you were FOS and repop over you with a fairly wide range if i was utg, but I am young and dumb so what do you expect. Also if you are playing any of your big hands like this your making a glaring error.

i'd say most likely you have 99-JJ, possibly something like ATs, utg is probably just raising because you are FOS. If either of you have QQ or better you are complete retards and deserve to lose a stack. Same goes for AQ+

honestly this is just terrible play regardless of what you hold.

ok, so you agree I am FOS. You would be correct. What does UTG have? At the time I did not know what to put him on other than a marginal holding at best....

    flop comes: 10h 3h 6d

UTG checks and I bet 140 and he raises all in, which is the rest of my approx 500 stack. I put him on maybe A-10, or a flush draw, or a pair smaller then 10's. I was almost sure he had a flush draw though...

so, if I had missed the flop I would be out of there right now... but I have Jd 10d. Top pair, worrisome kicker, one over and a backdoor flush draw.

So, it's now a must call... would you agree? Be honest because I am trying to gain some knowledge here.

I appreciate the responses so far because I was not certain it looked like I was FOS pre flop, but since it is unanimous thus far, and it was true, than it must be obvious. But for the record.... I may also play a medium pocket pair the same exact way 77-JJ, I mean, I have before, and I didn't feel like a retard doing it. I've also seen it played against me more than a few times in the same way.

The "young, dumb, and full of cum" comment was not meant to be derogatory. A dealer in our home game called anyone under the age of 35 that if they ever raised and lost, and it kind of sticks in my mind. My raising with J 10 is probably why...... meh

I actually just re-read jason's reply again..... he nailed it exactly, and described the thought process perfectly. I don't believe that I could describe the pre-flop better than he did other than to put it simply "no one has a friggin thing and I'm taking the dead money right now. If someone calls I should have position and we'll see what happens, they are going to be weak as well. If someone re-raises me then I just pissed away $80 but it should increase everyone's curiosity when I raise later."

Villain had 99, and I doubled up. It turned out nicely, but was gut wrenching at the time. My only remaining question is could anyone have re-raised, over my limp re-raise, with those pocket nines? Especially after you have already limped TWICE??? He should have just let it go IMHO.

My bankroll is the amount of money I would spend or lose before I got a job. It is calculated by adding my net worth to whatever I can borrow.
