hand 1 would be sexier if the flop pot was $6+ instead of $4. As it is I think youre risking too much to win slightly too little. I think youre pretty screwed here what ever you do though. There arent many hands hes going to check on that board if you check. And a checkraise probably doesnt have much fold equity with those stack sizes. Having said that folding with this much equity sucks. I think the push (or checkraise push if you think it will work) is quite possibly the best option here. Just hope your Aces are outs.

hand 2 sucks for you. Youre probably getting stacked here whatever you do but betting $9 means chances are nothing will call you and lose. I think you have to bet $4 and hope for the best.
gabe: Ive dropped almost 100k in the past 35 days.

    1. Fine. I agree with Pelion that it's better with more dead money in the pot, but you're barely behind the range that calls you here and it's great for metagame. Just make sure to do this with a set and obvious draws on the board.

    2. I agree with Pelion... you're probably getting stacked here, but it's better not to open push the river. You're only making money from worse flushes and a hand like Th9h might get scared off by your push.

i wouldn't clasify this as tilt, the bigger problem here is that it sounds like these hands have gotten you pretty down and low self esteem at the table, which they shouldnt.

    hand 1 -

Because of his pre-flop re-raise, you know that:
    1) he likes his hand and is probably calling
    2) he probably has a strong PP, if he doesnt your push will push him off most likely. so you are probably going up against aa or kk.

But, knowing #1 and #2, your odds against likely callers are:
    AA: behind 53% to 45%
    KK: ahead 55% to 45%

I think your fold equity is very low, but seeing the odds now you should feel better.

hand 2 - just tough. the bets never got big enough IMO to suspect a set going into river, I would have expected a bigger reraise looking for action, and considering all the players in the pot he had to think someone was drawing.

You need to bet smaller on the river though because:
    1) you will push out most of the weaker hands you beat (e.g. pocket 9s, 10s)
    2) the hands that aren't weak but you do beat will re-raise you, e.g. if they had trip 8s, they will do the work for you. the FH obviously does the same, but oh well.

You are missing value by overbetting the river though.
