I swear ppl at 25 NL like to call raises with 74. Its scary....

I'm such a pussy here. Someone is probably on an OESD. Doreen would worry me,bc limp call, then mini raise on the flop often seems to be pp that flopped a set.
  4. #4
I think raising is slightly>folding>calling. Why call pre flop if not for this? I bet cardoso has an overpair, doreen has an overpair or set and tex with a draw or poorly played set/str8/overpair.

With no reads, I would raise to around $20...then again, might as well just push.

    Fold preflop.

    As played, push and pray.

I don't like playing unsuited connectors in raised pots. Shoot me.

Didn't get the Sklansky reference (but I haven't read any Sklansky yet - that you could shoot me for).

whenever you hear a sklanksy joke it's probably because somebody made a nitty comment or something. But no way is calling with 65o pre here a good play but I chose to ignore it in my first post.

Well, I guess it's not too bad to be compared to the man .

Edit: grammar (don't know if it ended up correct though - do you say "compare with" or "compare to"?)

haha, I agree, but it's usually used in a negative way. Especially on 2+2.

I like getting involved in big pots with hands like these. It ended up getting me in trouble, of course.

I like getting involved in big pots with hands like these.
Calling a 4bb pfr w/ 56o as a default play is a mega-leak. If you have a read you can steal the pot later, or in few other situations, it could work, but the majority of the time you'll be handing out chips.

I'm in the SB with live cards, and it's 75 more cents for a $4 pot. I'm never folding this.

being in the SB is a very, very, very, very strong reason to fold. And it's $.90 to you for a $2.35 pot where you don't close the action where your cards aren't very live at all. In fact only a small amount of the time will you flop anything worth anything at all.

But that's a whole 'nother discussion.

I think a bit of Sklansky is called for: "Do you see why?"

Btw, right now I'm in the SB with AQo and I'm hating it.

I just raised UTG+1 with AQ clubs and it folded around to the SB who tripled my raise. I figured he picked up a monster so I laid it down and he showed some crap like 83o.
