    Default Trips vs tight player

Not sure if I should have played this differently. V is very familiar with me 12/9 over 9k hands. I would sometimes 3 bet this, but chose not to this time. On looking at it my hand is totally either face up or a bluff so I should be worried that he calls the turn, but what do you do on the river? Is this an acceptable line?

Looks like the weakest possible hand he could have once the turn was done was AQ. You beat that and aces, lose to KQ (doubt he would preflop raise with that though) or QQ, and split AK. Can't see what else he would lead with. Since he probably hasn't done anything goofy I might slow down on the river, although there may be too much in the pot to fold anyway.

Even so, though, I'd still expect all the money to go in after the third King.

well his turn betting range is like QQ/AK if he's as nitty as it seems

edit: doesn't mean I'm ever folding but I think it's a mistake to get all the money in against this player on this board.

on the flop especially at pstars im worried about ten jack, the turn I dont mind being agressive as I got the board pairing as outs, not to mention he has to consider you made a boat if he has something decent.

The fact that he knows you leads me to believe to keep this pot small as he might want you to bet those kings with ten jack, or a made boat. On poker stars I am assuming you got set up some how..Question what did he have?
I would rather have a bottle in front of me then a frontal labotomy

I never reraise preflop and I don't like checkraising the turn

Is he calling you down with Aces? Jacks? AQ? Those are the sorts of hands you want it maximize value against.

I like a turn donk and river value bet for that reason. If he raises, look him up.

hard to care about balance when it is probably the best play in this situation with this hand

why is leading better than checking in this spot?

Ya as soon as I c/raised the turn I thought it was a mistake but I was thinking he might talk himself in to calling w/Aces because he might not expect me to raise a K.
Then on the river I felt stuck, wasn't sure what to do so I just went with being more aggressive, although after c/raising and him calling that was probably a mistake also.

TBH I dont even think AA bets this turn so I do like leading a lot. I dont know if balance applies much as I don't even think we see a river here with much worse than a king.

You played TP like a donk plays a set. Hard to believe a tighter player shows up here with worse than TPTK.

are we expecting to be able to get 2 streets of value once the turn rolls off a King from AA?

I know I played it bad, that's what I mean. Whats a better line? Are you getting away from it and at what point?

When a scare card hits your perceived range out of position, you should lead out a lot both for value and as a bluff. I also do this a lot when the flush draw completes. Otherwise a lot of second best hands will check behind and you'll only get one street of value.

so to be more specific you're leading like JT or maybe AJ/AT here as well

i'm c/r'ing the flop with TPTK since you have such a large percentage of his c-betting range beaten. That way if the hand gets past the flop, then you have a much better idea of his range. Then you wouldn't be playing in the dark like you clearly were the way you played it

Why would u donk the turn as a bluff as usually ur flop c/c range has SD value?
