wondering where the 3 extra chairs at my 6max table came from

    Default Two pair redux

Played 425 hands UB $10NL. Ran 21/7.49/1.5. Ended up down $7.50. These are the two biggest hands.

    Hand#1:
If you saw my previous two pair post, this is more of the same. In the BB w/ crap. Check all round and flop two pair. Only this time, I tried to get more aggressive to push people off. Villain was running 48/8/.65 and wouldn't budge. I think you can guess what he was calling with... (hint: the second card in his hand doesn't matter... )

    No Limit Holdem Ring game
    Blinds: $0.05./$0.10.

    Pre-flop: (9 players) Hero is BB with 4 6
UTG folds, UTG+1 calls, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, 4 folds, 4 folds, Hero checks.

    Flop: 6 4 T ($0.45, 4 players)
    Hero bets $0.45, UTG+1 calls, MP1 calls, MP2 folds.

    Turn: 2 ($1.8, 3 players)
    Hero bets $1.8, UTG+1 calls, MP1 calls.

    River: 2 ($7.2, 3 players)
    Hero bets $2.5, UTG+1 folds, MP1 calls all-in $2.35.
Uncalled bets: $0.15 returned to Hero.
Was questionable on this bet. I figured I had two choices. Check and let someone else bet out/push or keep the fold equity and bet myself. I decided to size it to push MP1 all-in and hope that was enough to make UTG fold. It worked from that standpoint. But I was already dead... So should I have C/F when the board paired?

    Results:
    Final pot: $11.9

    Hand 2:
Don't feel too bad about this one, except that it sucks. I was significantly ahead on the flop. And then came the turn... Not much to say on this one I don't think. I can't see not calling a push w/ two pair, but am I wrong?

    Turn: Q ($6.3, 1 player + 1 all-in - Main pot: $6.3)

hand one: check fold the river as played. However i would probably check this turn. Anyone is pushing this turn here. Especially if MP1 is shortstacked too? Hand 2 is fine.

Hand 1 is good to the river. I think I c/f here since two callers on the flop and turn means that someone most definately has a T or better. Therefor, my 2pr is counterfeited with the second duece.

    hand one...c/f. youre counterfeited.

hand two... folding is prolly -EV long term, but i prolly do. i dont like two pair where one is not the top pair...too easily counterfeited. at 10NL i can see AK doing this, but not limping pf. i can see sets doing this. i can see flush draws doing this, too. KT, K2...all do this. several combinations have you beat badly....remember this pot was limped.

however, you have 77% equity over all pp's that didnt hit their sets, and you are 60/40 over flush draws with one over card to your T. so, i guess that means you call.

i just dont like the push over a decent raise. screams to me that youre beat.

Hand #2: I had him covered about 3x ($10-ish to his $3 push). Which brings up another related question... This guy played short stack the entire session. My challenge playing against shorties is I look at their "push," go "hmmm... that's not a lot of money relative to my stack and the pot," and am more likely to make what might be a questionable call because it just doesn't seem as red flag/in your face threatening as a deep stack pushing.

Should I pay less attention to the $ amount of the push with someone playing short and focus more on the fact that they pushed?

that one really depends on your "player read."

but, in general, i am finding that shorties like to push TP and scare cards. they dont like decisions, either. so, if you have something, and he shows interest, try to work him all-in sooner rather than later.

-EV thinking. You'll find a lot of your bb/100's gone and you'll wonder whereto.
