InterPoker - $100 Max Buy-in - $.50/$1.00 Blinds

It was not a very exciting night. Bought in for the max of $100. I lost $25 on the first 2 hands being dealt AQ in both only to be beaten by AK in both hands!

After about an hour I found myself down to about $55. I finally won a decent hand to get back up to $80. After about 50 minutes more of plodding along I was sitting at $90 when this hand came along.

Now, I've told you all of the very loose players that I've experienced here. I couldn't believe what this guy had when he turned over his cards. I figured him for 2 pair or a boat. But, hey, if he wants to do my betting for me then all the better.

I made the $2 call on the flop because I figured that short-stack was just making a stab at the pot representing the K on the board. I figured I'd stick around for one more card to see if I could improve my hand on the turn. If I didn't and was faced with a good-sized turn bet I'd have folded figuring someone for the K.

This hand is why I play NL!

Poetic justice as I had lost an $80 hand this past weekend when my set of Q's got busted by a guy who called my $4 pre-flop raise with 24s only to catch his gutshot straight draw on the turn.

2 different people calling raises with 34o and 24s! Amazing. granted, yesterday's guy was on the BB but still he had to call $2 more with that hand and did.

Foley12, foley12, foley12... I have to remember that name. When I get home I'm heading straight to the computer and looking for him. I have to sit by him.

Very nice, jm. Looks like he picked the wrong time to bluff. You showed him you didn't have a K with the flop, and he decided he could take the pot down. It was nice to catch the Q and call him down. But he had terrible position to bluff. After your call on the turn he needed to check. Good that he wasn't too smart.

Yep. He had to be trying to buy it on the turn. But he certainly needed to check on the river when I called him.

It was one of those rare times when you call an all-in and your heart isn't racing 100mph for fear that you might be beaten somehow. The nuts will do that to ya!

There are alot of players just like him on InterPoker that I've run into so far. That coupled with the excellent bonuses that they offer are making it quite worth my time.

It is mostly UK players so there are fewer tables in the evening for US players since I believe that we are 5 hours behind them (I'm in EST) here in the states. But there are still enough players to make it worth while.

Something similar happened to me the other day in a SNG, i had K-10 and limped in flop was A-J-4 rainbow called a minimum raise for the gut shot with 3 players in, turn was a Q both checked I raised minimum both called river was 4 no flush chances both people went all in before me, i coulfnt belive it so i called having the nuts and tripled up, easiest hand ever.

If they're calling with that crap, add 1-2x BB more to your pre-flop raises and see what their tolerance for pain is. With those stacks their pre-flop calls aren't punished harshly enough.

Good point, Fnord. I guess you just have to continue to push and push to see how far they will call pre-flop. Good advice.
