    Default UTG range help

I recently found that my 22-66 are small to medium losers UTG/UTG+1. I am now trying to determine whether the increased EP range that I have because I am playing these hands, and therefore the increased action I get on my big hands, makes up for the losses I accrue by playing these smaller pairs from EP for a raise.

To do this I am going to be comparing my UTG/UTG+1 winrate in BB/hand with my big PP's vs. their winrate regardless of position. To fully determine whether I am getting any extra action I would like to compare the difference in my winrate to some people who don't usually raise the smaller PP's in EP. Or, to those who have a tighter UTG/UTG+1 range. I am currently at about 9-10 VPIP and pfr from EP.

Surprising results. possibly due to sample size issues. I have a little over 82K at 100NL hands in my database.

When filtered for seat 8-9 the difference was as follows.

AA: 2.81 BB/hand more from EP vs overall winrate
    KK: 1.83 BB/hand more
    QQ: 4.01 BB/hand more
    JJ: 6.77 BB/hand more

    When filtered for seats 7-9

AA: .49 BB/hand less from EP
    KK: 1.67 BB/hand more
    QQ: 2.92 BB/hand more
    JJ: 2.64 BB/hand more

I don't know if these numbers say much, if anything.

What do others numbers look like? Was this a waste of time?

The problem is you're comparing two different players with differing skill level images and styles.

Think about how many players EVER are going to look at your stats by position. Think about the sample size they'll be dealing with. How many players are going to even have attempt to steal up on their HUD (of those who even have a HUD) to know whether your stats come from early position or are bloated by a very aggressive style in late position?

If low PPs are a loser for you UTG then dump them.

This is very true, but it will be mitigated somewhat by the fact that I will be looking at a difference score, not overall winrate per big PP. The different images/styles is kind of what I am trying to get at.

BB/SB is a more profitable position for AA/KK than UTG because you get to act later pre-flop.

...and because you'll play those hands in 3bet pots, not raised pots, even in moderate aggressive games.

are you saying that I should not focus on my UTG range as much, but should focus instead on blind play?
