Value from set on tricky flop NL25

So I did some analysis in PO and discovered I was not winning enough from my sets. When I hit sets I tend to be OOP and lead out with a good sized bet only to have it folded to me.

How was my line here? Should I have raised? At what point? My basic reasoning through this had was did villain flop the straight - if so would he lead out with a pot sized bet???

BB bets $9.75 and is all in, Hero calls $9.75.

Final Pot: $19.40

Ummm, raise the flop please?...or at least the turn. I dont want to give JT/KQ etc a free card here most likely.

Also, out of the big blind, im thinking more of a T9/T8 type of hand and he will happily get it in on the flop with you.

almost as bad as folding the river because you didn't boat.

Some people are very straight forward. Granted most at the $25 try to get tricky, but not all.

Thanks. I thought I cocked this up. I get a little gun shy (weak) b/c a lot of players at 25 draw even when they don't have odds. Obviousy when the scare card comes (which it does often enough) I'm left in no mans land.

Bet flop. Check
Bet Turn. Check

Raise PF? Not so comfortable with that one. I'm not sure my post flop skills are good enough yet. Let me have a think about this one - unless someone wants to convince me??

No comment on the HH, but if I'm OOP in a raised pot, I tend to bet out unless it's something like top set or MAYBE middle set on an uncoordinated board.

In raised pots, I usually bet out fairly weak with hope that the guy who holds TPTK or an raises. If/when this happens at 25NL, the rest is easy (push against his raise, assuming that it's a "reasonable" push; also possible to push the turn) as very few players at this level can drop an overpair.

Generally I don't make PSBs so you may want to tailor your bet size to the situation.

It works rather well.. just raise pf, then cbet (most of the time).. even when you hit your set cbet.. if you get reraised and think you are beat fold, if you get reraised when you have a set, you win a lot of $$.

Which is why you should raise hard to make them draw with the worst odds possible.
