Default This Was A Fun Hand...

You can't see the time i waited before calling on the flop and turn, i must say, i think i played this hand better than i've played 90% of all other hands in my poker "career". It's hard to play the nuts, at least, for me.

well, to be fair, pocket nines had you beat right there. and dont say it wouldnt happen, cause i lost with a flopped four sevens to a rivered four kings this afternoon on Full Tilt. That was about as pissed off as I have ever been in my life.

Uh, so? If aren't willing to risk all your money with quads because you're afraid of running into better quads, then you have no business playing poker.

Besides, 9-9 would've checked the flop.

I didnt say he should be scared, i just said it could happen.

and there is no way 9-9 checks that flop. He has a made full house, so the only hand that beats him is 6-6. He bets that all day.

Sure, if he doesn't feel like making any money...

If you flop the boat and you KNOW it's the nuts, why bet it? Give the opponent(s) a chance to catch up and either develop something, or take a shot at the pot.

i am not saying that he pushes. but you gotta build the pot a little at least. if he sees the turn and river for free he will be more likely to lay it down when you push on the river, because he doesnt have anything invested into the pot. I wouldnt bet it huge, but i would put some chips out for sure

Um... I had pocket sixes, not nines, and i wasn't saying they were the nuts PF, but they definitely were when i flopped quads...

I don't know if you were being sarcastic, or even talking to me, but your post didn't make much sense.

All he's saying is that by the end there are two hands that could have beaten yours, not likely - but he was just pointing it out.

Not even something i'm going to consider. If it's that 1 in 1,000+ shot that i've hit quads, and it's that 1 in 1,000,000 shot that someone has hit HIGHER quads than i have, i guess i'll just be losing all my money. LOL.

I guess someone should post this:

Nuts or Nut Hand - the Nuts or Nut hand is the best possible hand at that particular moment. For example, if I am holding the Ace and Jack of hearts, and the flop brings the 2, 6, 9 of hearts, I would be holding the "nut" hand or just the "nuts" - there is no hand that I can lose to at this momemt. Of course, the nut hand can change as the fourth and fifth cards come out (a straight flush). The highest possible straight or flush is often called the "nut" straight or "nut" flush.
