    Default What Would You Do?

OK, here's the deal. You're with :Kh::Kd: in UTG. You raise 4xBB and get 3 callers.

    Flop comes: :Jh:

You raise the pot and it goes up to 16$. Two folds, the third caller raises 8$.

    What to do?

Stack sizes were equal, both had 50$ +-3$

You really have to think that he would wait to raise if he had a made flush here. Seems like he might be worried that you do. Does he play suited garbage? Does he play tricky/well or just raise whenever he has a hand. Could he be making a play? If you just call, and check to him on the turn, will he bluff? Will he call a reraise over the top allin on the flop without the flush? I have to think you're ahead, and I would just be looking for a place to get them allin here unless he was a total rock. Then again, I lose money with overpairs in situations like this sometimes. Just the K hearts seals the deal for me....

Well, i pushed it. He called and flips over JJ. Not sure i did the right thing, but oh well.

The reason I thought he did not have a set is that I thought he would push allin to protect against the flush draws instead of his minraise of your flop bet. I would have probably done the same thing as you here. Hopefully more advanced players can give you their (more valuable) advice on this situation. Anyway, you still had 11 outs after the flop, which is a pretty decent .40 to improve to the winning hand here. Sorry it didn't work out.

Pushing is a bad play unless you hold the Ah or the made flush.

His raise could mean a semi-bluff in which case you are in good shape b/c you hold the Kh, or a made weak flush, or any combination of top pair etc. That flop was a great opportunity for an opponent to run a bluff and it would have looked brilliant if you snapped him off or if another heart came.

Overall, a trickey hand. Since you hold the Kh I would flat call his raise and see the turn. Your flat call may also slow him down b/c he has to fear the made flush. If you improve to the flush, hammer away. If he comes out swinging again on the turn, easy lay down.

Pushing wasn't wrong against a known bluffer or super aggressive player assuming you have a solid read. Pushing is bad against an unknown b//c you will only get called when you are behind.

I like the push, but I should mention lately my CG play has been terrible.
