Villain is 25/16/6 It's the usual saturday night mayhem on party. He seems aggro in late position but I don't really have any other reads on him. How should I play the river?

Fold PF. Save thet 3bet with air for situations when you have at least good position and some postflop reads - 0r you will be constantly put in gross spots.

On this board and against bully's range, you must bet it harder ($3.5), it will set- and try to get it AI ASAP. This is "action board". He either hit hard or totally missed. You luckboxed near-nuts with your kookie hand, now play it like aces and let him think, his QJ/Q9/QQ/whatever is good.

After your potsized odds-busting bet and less than PSB behind on river, you can treat that river like blank and just push with hope, that sets, 2p's will pay you off.

PF I think you're right. I certainly picked the wrong person to try this on, not to say it is never a good play, I've used it with some success against weaker players. On the flop again you're right I should have bet much harder. I got excited... As for the river I guess it is a push. That's what I did anyway and he showed me Ac4c - bummer. I know that I took away his odds on the turn but that doesn't guarantee he won't chase. Trouble is there's lots of hands that I can get to call a push that I beat so I do have to do it don't I?

    fold pf or just call.

as played I full pot flop and turn, then I lead river for half pot and call a small raise.

well thats fine although on the river the pot will be $40 and I will have $6 left so I may have to forgo the half pot lead and small raise call But I take your point.
