Default Wondering if I played this well

    Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (9 handed)

    UTG+1 ($35.90)
    Hero ($43.25)
    MP2 ($24.75)
    MP3 ($25)
    CO ($33.05)
    Button ($55.41)
    SB ($34.69)
    BB ($24.20)
    UTG ($45.07)

    Preflop: Hero is MP1 with J, J.
UTG folds, UTG+1 calls $0.50, Hero raises to $1, MP2 folds, MP3 folds, CO folds, Button folds, SB calls $0.75, BB calls $0.50, UTG+1 calls $0.50.

    Flop: ($4) T, K, 3 (4 players)
SB checks, BB checks, UTG+1 bets $0.5, Hero calls $0.50, SB folds, BB calls $0.50.

    Turn: ($5.50) J (3 players)
BB checks, UTG+1 bets $2, Hero raises to $5, BB folds, UTG+1 raises to $34.4 (All-In), Hero calls $29.40.

    River: ($74.30) T (2 players, 1 all-in)

    Final Pot: $74.30

Little info. I don't have a great read on UTG+1, but from what I have seen I feel he is a pretty good player. I have been playing pretty tight aggressive and have noticed he may be letting me do the betting for him when he has a hand. After the flop I have him on K something A,Q,J maybe. I figure he wants me to raise and since there is a king on the board I just call.

What do you think of the hand. Any analysis would be appreciated.

Pre-flop you're better off raising to at least $2 in hopes of getting it heads-up or just flat calling looking to play set. A min-raise does nothing for you. Either works with JJ depending on table texture. After that it looks great. Nice job abusing UTG for under-betting the flop.

Preflop raise is too small. Rest is good.

Looks a lot like UTG+1 has AQo, but lots of other hands fit as well. TT, KJ, JT...

Limp from UTGish. Calls the raise.
Min bet of his gut-shot in hopes he doesn't get raised, or maybe to feel out his position.
Goes nuts on the Turn when he hits.

Thanks for all the replies. I typically raise more with a JJ, but was trying out a small raise for a change after being aggressive for a while.

I was thinking KT as well, but after the all in possibly 10, 10. Unfortunately to my suprise after show down he shows KK and has my full house crushed. That was definetly not what I was expecting to see since he didn't reraise me pre-flop. I am definetly keeping that play in my notes on him. I'll have to see if it is something he try's to pull often with KK/AA.

Based on his play I am not sure whether he would have reraised me pre-flop if I had made the bet 2-3 dollars or if he would have just called.

If you've been playing aggressively up to that point, he could have expected you to continue. In his position, I would have just called to see the flop and watch out for an ace (aggressive players tend to bet AQ, AJ, ect). After flopping another K, he's trying to get you to reraise him on the flop. I really dont understand his all-in after the J on the turn though, you could easily hold AQ in that situation, then he'd be down to 10 outs.

All in all, tough hand for you though
Is that guy still part of the forum??
