You made such a weak bet on the river. You told him you were weak so he took advantage. I think you call. He didn't raise preflop. If he has TT then just pay him off.

Interesting, A limper calling on every street with the flush draw out there which hits on the river... You gave him bad odds with good flop and turn bets if that was what he had, so I can't really put him on the flush except for a fishy player with AXs... My real guess is ATo and you have him beat, so I would make a crying call here... and pay off the fish-flush... Regardless, bet more on the river to tell him that you are still strong.

i wouldn't call this once in a million years. I also would either check the river, or bet it more strongly.

$10 bet? Make it $30 or $40 and I'm sure he doesn't raise you with his 2 pair.

Uh if i bet 10$ on this river, i WANT this guy to come over the top, and thats just what he does. If you want to know whether or not he has a flush, bet more. If you're willing to bet he doesn't, then make this play and call his raise. The hands you pay off: TT and a flush. The hands he could have include those two, plus AT, KT, 55, busted strait draw, even AQ might come over here after that river bet. Looks like you could have JTs and don't like your top pair from the flop any more that two overs hit. Call.

Well i called pretty much instantly, i had a read the all in was a bluff. I guess my weak bet on the river was an invitation for him to come over the top, which he did and is a tactic i like using. I've notice sometimes against an aggressive player if i make a strong bet on the river, i wont get the call "usually" because they know their beat. But if i act weak, they feel they have an opportunity to come over the top and steal the pot, in which hopefully i take more money.

I think you definatley got outplayed here, if you called you would have taken down the pot. I would say most players at that level would interpret that river bet as a scared bet from someone who is UTG and not sure where he stands anymore. If he indeed had a flush he would value reraise.

A larger bet on the river would scare off most people from bluffing I would say 2/3 is appropriate, hands you beat will call, hands that have you crushed will let you know.


Hand #2 he value bet and he had it. Hand #1 i think is an overbet bluff.

I understand the mindset that gets us there, but I'm not sold that it's correct.

seeing how the hand adds up, it's very possible for him to have Tx at the river.

but, unless he's a courageous player, I don't call the river bet, and yes the $10 bet totally fucked the Hero in this hand. Acting like the bluff catcher police in cash games will cost you tons of money
