Out of curiosity, what hands were you putting your opponent on as this hand progressed? Fortunately you were able to find an asshat to take along for the ride with your rockets!

When the blinds are still this low I am betting 5-6x the BB(1x per limper if in late position) . There is too big a risk of too many people calling this small raise and then catching on the flop. I like to make a strong bet and hope to get one caller.

Well there obviously wasn't any flush draw but a possible straight if he was stupid enough to come with me. I was also afraid of the possibility of him having two-pair. This player had been playing very good poker to that point and I was suprised to see him/her go all-in and to find out it was just top pair. I feel as if this worked out for me but I was not sure I made the right call on a strong raise, I felt the whole way I had the best hand but that raise just caught me off guard I guess.

I am seeing a pattern in my play though where I need to start getting a little more aggressive pre-flop to help sort out the garbage.

Yeah, see my last post... this is not a flop you want to let people stay around on. You didn't raise much so the 45 is scary in addition to the flush draw.

I would guess the other guy read weakness in your post flop bet, assuming if you had a real hand you'd want to protect against the draw, so he figured you had a PP lower than the K or second pair with an A or something... some sort of hand you're looking to play cheaply.

On the turn you must call, too many hands that you beat can make this pla. If the guy made two pair on that board you can look back to your weak play pre flop and on the flop to see why your AA got beat.

I think you let yourself fall into a dangerous situation here. By only making a small raise with your As you gave ample oporunity for a lot of hands to call you for a flop. If you'd have bet harder then all you'd likely have had to worry about is trips. I'd have also made a more hefty bet on the flop too.

Hopefully then you'd not find yourself in that situation you were in.

what's with all the weak-ass min-betting? you would not be putting yourself into such ridiculous calling situations if you just bet the damn hand with the proper level of aggression it demands. same goes for your KK on the other thread. are you afraid to win money or what?

From your recent hand history posts, Wolverine42, you need to drop the fucking hammer more!

All this limping and minraising your monsters and then minbetting them down isn't good. Make your raises AT LEAST 3xBB with your monsters, and bet them strongly. I know you will fear that you won't get much action. And you probably won't get as much, but it saves you getting into silly situations where your stack is on the line.

I actually realized this after the first couple of critics. I have realized that I am not playing my good hands the right way at all. Mostly because I am not betting my strong hands strong enough. I haven't been playing for that long so I am posting here to pick up on some of my mistakes. I think I need to learn how much to bet, its obvious I'm not betting enough on my strong hands.
