Default Yet another KK hand from UTG...

Pot control or bet it hard?

Recent posts made by Fnord made me thinking "is it ALWAYS appropriate to bet hard every street?"

    I have :Kc: :Ks:

I open raise 4BB and get single caller.

Flop: - Hands that beat me are AA, 22 and 6x. I pwn lower overpairs and have them on 2 outs, I have 4 outer to 22 and 2-outer to 6x.

I check. He checks it back.

    Turn:

Good card, now I can stack other lower pocker pairs and 22 can kiss my butt.

I pot it, he pushes and I call.

    River:

    Results in white:
He flips over his pocket deuces for counterfeited underfull and MHIG.

What about all your Ax hands, esp. diamonds that call you preflop? You're just asking them to beat you. I'd be much less worried about trip 6s here than a flush draw, so I bet out to give my opps wrong odds. Yea, I might be missing value later, but when an A, a 2, or a diamond falls, I don't know how good my KK is. So...bet the flop!

Yep, diamond draws are more of a concearn here then 22 or 6x. Must bet flop to protect.

Bet flop and try and get it all in from the turn onwards.

I kind of like it. Especially with the check behind on the river, you win money more times than you lose I believe. If I get raised, I dump the AA, but if I get cold calls, I'll bet it down and take a showdown for free on the river anytime.

I like your play here, I play it the same sometimes.

For what it's worth, I dropped nearly 1k in a night of playing 100NL 6 max. Granted some of it was just running god-aweful-horrible.
