    Default Absolute Poker

    Although the players here are quite easy and the games can be profitable, this site is totally ruined by the software. The grand total of 2 personal options I get don't even work right. Due to the shitty, grainy garphics that must have been designed by sega in the late 1980's, I can't tell how many chips people are betting so of course I check the "show betting amounts" option. Unfortunately, it comes unchecked every time I press OK to close the window.

    Today, one of my tables froze up on me and wouldnt even let itself be minimized. I couldn't ctrl-alt-del the table, so I tried to exit the whole AP program. When I tried this, I was informed that first I need to close all tables! Finally, I ctrl-alt-deleted the whole program.

    Not only are the graphics horrible, but the way the tables were designed leaves nothing but a cluttered, busy effect that is distracting and annoying. The animation is horrible as well. The tables run in such a choppy manner that it becomes a headache to watch them for any length of time. Not only are the tables choppy, but they run very slowly. Its as if the software requires too much memory from my machine. Considering that I have 512 MB of ram and a Geforce FX 5700, this is sad. Simple tables without so much distraction would have been nice.

    The one good thing about this site is the easy, predictable opponents. If it wasn't for that, I'd be in a perfect poker hell. Just remember that if one of your opponents min bets $1 into a $14 pot or 60 chips into a 400 chip pot, they will not fold to a huge raise because they have to be holding TPTK or better to even bet that much half the time. They then go into check and call mode so make sure you hit a real hand before trying to push anyone around. Pretty easy once you figure that out.

    Now if only there wasnt a no-cashouts-for-48-hours rule.

    (No, I'm not trying to get $50 or submit a formal review. I just wanted to rant for a bit.)

    I would really suggest unistalling and reinstalling the software. I had similar problems the first time I installed it. I run AP on my laptop and it runs smoothly. My laptop sounds like it's half the machine that your computer is too.

    As for the players, they are predictable as you mentioned but they are also MAD chasers. I see all-ins called post flop with Q2o with no Q, no 2, no straight draw, and no flush draw plus at least 1 overcard on the board. When questioned, the response is always something like, "I thought he was bluffing." I've not seen this just once, but many, many times.

    The only reason I play there is because I am trying to turn the $5 I won at a Freeroll into $120 so that I can add it to my BR and move to a real site.

    I was dealt AA OTB last night, raised it to $4 and the SB raised it to $8. The big blind cold called $8. Action was back to me so I made it $21 to go. the SB cold calls me, the button goes in for like $40 so I push. The SB who just called $21 preflop folds and my aces take BB's 9To down.

    That is an AP player through and through. 90% of the players there think that ANY PP is an all-in hand or a hand to call anything with.

    I won 4.00 on a freeroll and now im trying to build a sizable backroll to cash out with. The problem I have is the choppy software. It laggs alot after playing for like an hour. I have to reset the computer and it's back to normal. I have also tried to get hand histories. 4=5 times I have not received them. I would advise anyone who asks to avoid absolute.

    I tried to cash out for teh above mentioned reasons and...
    Absolute wouldn't give me my money when I tried to cash out... They sent me an e mail from security that the needed me to fax them my credit card and driver's licence to prove that I was "legit"
    I'll post the whole correspondence if I can find it.

    I get the feeling this is going nowhere. (especially since the last 2 replies were effectively identical.)
    I know a lot of people may say "just send them the stuff, its not a big deal" But I would rather not have to go through that type of issue with my money.
    Unfortunately it looks like i have little choice, but suffice it to say, Absolute has lost me as a customer.

    I swear, I've never had these kind of problems with AP... Have you considered cashing out to Neteller, if you're not already?

    I know everyone bashes AP, but I've had lots of pleasant Customer Service Experiences and made a ton of money off the fishies there.

    My ap cashouts have all been smooth. I never had to do anything like that and have never had any of the problems that people complain about on here.

    I have a question? If AP lets you transfer money between players, why don't you transfer it to someone you trust at FTR? Then they can transfer the money to you at Party or something.

    Alternatively, you could "lose" the money to another player at FTR, and then do the same thing.

    Just some thoughts. I hate the way that card rooms pull this crap on you.

    Has anyone had any problems with hand histories? When I play at Stars they hand instant hand history....AP needs to do something, the only thing they have going for them are the numerous freerolls other than that it sucks.

    I just had a similiar issue occur on The Gaming Club. They didn't have any problems taking my Neteller deposit, but when I tried to cash out $500 to my Neteller account they suspended my poker account until I give them my driver's license/ss# and utility bill. This is creepy to me as it is all the information you would need for identity fraud. I think it would be great if FTR would add to their Reviews details as to which poker sites pull this crap on new players.

    I have played at absolute a lot and cashed out maybe 20 or more times and have never had one take more then 24 hours. There customer service is great and they take care of there players. I even quit playing there for a while just becuse i was busy whoring other sites. They sent me a special come back offer Where they gave me a reload bonus and refunds for playing in a couple gaurenteed tournements. I have also requested hand historys many times and always get them within hours. If they requsted information from you its because some red flags where raised.
    So just send them what they want unless of course there is somthing funny going on

    AP is also one of the only sites at which you can simultaneously collect a bonus and rakeback. That's reason enough to play there.

    I wait for them to finish their ' investigation ' but after 25 days or so I get tired of waiting and send them another mail asking how long this could take. They send me this..

    It gets worse... I've been trying to call AP support with the number they've sent me and it's the same number they told Demi to call..and the same faxmachine. So i finally get them to mail me another number ( they wont call me altough i've sent them my number several times ) but all I get is a busy signal. I tell them and they answer....

    Wow, I am staying away from this site. You should post this over at bonuswhores as well. Any site that replies with an email as unprofessional as this doesn't need to be in business. I'm sorry to hear about this as well, that really sucks.
