my email exchange with lock so far...
I am considering depositing to your site. I have two BIG questions first.
1. How is your deposit/withdrawl system different from the (former) big three; pokerstars, fulltilt, and UB? In other words, how do I as an american player know that the same thing won't happen to you (and my bankroll) that happened to the big three (and recently Doyle's Room as well as several others)? I don't want some lame explanation about the UIGA not applying to poker, we all know that...apparently that don't matter to the DOJ. Tell me the actual difference between how YOU process deposits/withdrawls and how the big three did it.
2. Are you willing to accept checks for deposit and withdrawls, not merely e-check, but actual paper checks. I am willing to deposit/withdraw this way if you are. It seems the most safe, though time-consuming.

I am a long time, full-time player and need a site to play on. Convince me please, that I can do so at your site.
Many thanks,

Hi, xxxxxxx
We can not guaranteed anything I'm afraid, but have put the appropriate steps in place to ensure we stay online for our players.
Check is an available withdrawal method but not for deposits. The deposit options we have are Visa/Mastercard, Click2Pay and Western Union/Moneygram.
All our best,

Elle,
Thanks for answering question #2 at least. How about at least giving question #1 an honest answer...and "we can not guarantee anything..." doesn't answer my question, which I will reiterate:
Tell me the actual difference between how YOU process deposits/withdrawls and how the big three did it.
If there is no actual difference, that's fine, tell me that. And then I can make an informed decision based upon that. What do you mean by having put "the appropriate steps in place to ensure we stay online for our players"? That strikes me as purposefully vague (essentially meaningless) and believe me I've had about enough of that from full tilt as I wait for my money, and wait....
If you are liable to have the same indictments as full tilt, stars, and UB, because you all process transactions in basically similar ways, as a potential customer I have every right to ask about that, and receive an honest and complete answer.
I won't deposit with you most likely, in that case, but I will certainly respect your company for your honesty, and would strongly consider playing there in a more poker-friendly future environment.
Many thanks,
xxxxxxx xxxxx

so...I'll guess we'll wait and see. I have a feeling there is no real difference and a lock poker shutdown is an eventual inevitability. I hope I'm wrong, but I sure won't be putting any money there in the meantime. Unless I get REAL answers that address the actual issues involved. No more shadowy, vague near-assurances about "steps put on place" --blah on that. I wasn't asking for guarantees, merely to be intelligently informed of the differences (if any) between Lock and the BIG (indicted) THREE. That's what none of these sites have come forth with on their own, and what every American player should be asking them.
