Datamining is only possible on PartyPoker, I believe. Because PartyPoker stores observed hands into your hand history folder, PokerTracker is able to import these and therefore get stats on players you are not actually laying with, but merely ones you are observing. That is datamining.

PokerAce HUD is an addon for PokerTracker. It just relays stats on players from PokerTracker onto your actual table. It does update real-time if you have auto-import on in PokerTracker while you are using it. Therefore, PokerAce HUD is a great tool for attaining reads on other players.
