Get every song from Bloc Party's album, Silent Alarm.
Crazy good band.
I love pearl jam. FWIW.

grundge much? Hmm.
Radiohead & Tool are my favorites, I recommend them to everyone.
Wilco - Being there, either of the two more recents are all great
The White stripes.
The new Ben Folds album - Songs for Silverman - has been treating the wife and I really well.
Have you heard Ben Harper - try one of his first albums, Welcome to the cruel world or Fight for your mind
Softer folky stuff - Amos Lee, Ray Lamongtange, Damien Rice
Morphine
Matthew Sweet - start with Girlfriend, go from there.
I'm assuming you either don't like or just didn't mention the pumpkins, plenty of pod filler there. Also Jane's addiction
Steal I mean purchase the new System of a Down.
I recommend a preview before buying SOAD... I dunno, to me it sounds like weird Al doing SOAD. I'm not a huge fan or anything, I may not get it. Enjoyed the album before this until it got overplayed, this one...
may i suggest some Bloc Party?
audioslave!

Just a shame you wouldnt understand the lyrics :)
How about Boxcar Racer, Blink 182 and Dashboard Confessional?
Our Lady Peace!
Awesome live band.... Kinda bridges the gap between 90's grundge and todays alternative rock.
If you plan on playing poker with the iPod during a tournament, what would you play? I would change music for each level. I have never and will probably never actually put on my iPod during an onland tourney but if I did....
Early:
Indian Classical Music: Ustad Shahid Parvez (I study the sitar and this is the best player ever!! This music is relaxing and meditative so it will keep me chilled out early on and help me focus)
Middle:
Tool or Alice In Chains: Time to kick it up a notch! Ready to switch gears
Bubble:
I am reaching into my Black Metal collection because it is all about being pure evil at this point
Cradle of Filth
Dimmu Borgir
pixies seems like an obvious rec ... surprised no one else threw it in.

kasabian
the exit (back to the rebels in particular)

A few more albums to consider:
Oasis - Definitely Maybe
Oasis - What's the Story (Morning Glory)?
Oasis - Don't Believe The Truth
DO NOT get Oasis - Be Here Now, it is crap compared to the above three.
Foo Fighters - One By One
You need Sing the sorrow and lost art of drowning by A.F.I.
Relationship of command by At The Drive In
B.R.M.C. by Black Rebel Motorcycle Club
The Decline of British Sea Power by British Sea Power
See This Through and Leave by the Cooper Temple Clause
The Real Thing and Album of the Year by Faith No More
Every Kyuss album, especially sky valley
Shape of Punk to come by Refused
Disturbed
Slipknot
early Metallica (in your case at least)
Iron Maiden
Killswitch Engage
Murderdolls
New York Dolls
M.I. 5
Black Flag
Suicidal Tendencies
Rob (and White) Zombie
Manson
John 5's solo album
Peaches
and definatly try to track down some Def FX (think they were released as Definition Function X in the US due to No F/X) especially the albums Ritual Eternal or Baptism
everything by faith +1
How bout a little Jimmy Buffet love in the house!
I am partial to the following albums
Yes - Close to the Edge
Miles Davis - In A Silent Way
The Band - Rock of Ages
Allman Brothers Band - Live At Fillmore East
King Crimson - Red
Jimmy Smith - Root Down
John Coltrane - Giant Steps
Steely Dan - Katy Lied
DefinatelyQuote:
