I guess he had 46 or 34? Or he's just an idiot holding a 5. In general, I wouldn't push this, with suited connectors you're not really looking to make top pair with them. I probably would have led out on the flop and turn. I wouldn't be too ready to get all of my chips in the middle with top pair of 7 with an 8 kicker when the board is paired.

I think you were right to go over the top. I get the feeling its a steal simply because if he has a 2 he isnt going to bet it on the flop surely?
If hes drawing then hes an ass for calling your push.
It looks like a readable bluff imo so i like the play.
I was just thinking about an overpair too, but again he wouldnt bet like that when the two comes out because he has to think you may be holding that. yes/no?

i agree i dont think he'd bet the 2 on the flop. plus he wasn't in the blinds he was in middle position which imo unless he's got a2 suited(edit: or pocket 2's) it's unlikely he's got it, i was thinking more of overcards...
