:: Steady income?
Hi Guys
Do any of you actually make an income outta playing this game?
I've been playing on Paradise Poker for about 3 months and can now hold my own on a $1/$2 table but my account just goes up and down between $20 and $200 but never seems to get beyond that...
I'm pretty patient but oike evryone when my account is healthy i guess I player looser!
I think i need to set myselft a target of say win $40 this session and then quit... otheriwse you tend to keep betting until its gone... and then stop
Anyone got advice on what can realistically be earned in a day on $1/$2 tables.. i usally play 6 max and 1 or two tabels at a time
The fact that i;m not having to keep putting money in my account is a bonus but woudl be great to make it grow say $300 per month?
Also - does anyone use the odds calculator Texas Calculatem? Does it help?
Cheers

Odds calculators suck, setting $$$ goals and stopping to play for the day suck. These have been discussed before and this was pretty much the concensus.
You can make a really good income playing short handed, playing nl200 and making $300 a month sounds really small to me but it beats breaking even..

this is the no-limit forum by the way - it kinda sounded like you were talking about limit

ummm i recommend you read about bankroll management.

U shouldn't be touching the 1/2 tables with that kinda BR. That's ludicrous, and part of the reason why you might not be pullin profit. Learn to beat the .10/.25's then beat the .25/.50's so forth and so on....... I realize that some sites dont have 6max at all levels, but full ring TAG play should reduce variance as well....

don't set target $ for the day. Set #/hours that you can feasibly do without crimping your other responsibilities. 6max is beatable, but has notoriously high variance, so get under your bankroll limitations and crank out the hands.
