Tough Situation w/ KQ against Unpredictable Player

Button is hard to read- he makes large raises preflop (ranging from 6x BB to 12x BB or more), but he is hardly called so I have yet to see a showdown where he has made one of these raises. He has bluff-raised postflop, but he has also raised similar amounts when he has a made hand... he also seems to be a loose player since he gets involved in lots of pots.

How would you play this?

id mini reraise here. See if hes serious. If he really has gambOOl hell push. It makes the river difficult but may make showdown possible

Would you go to the showdown either way then? i.e if you re-raised, and he called, or if you re-raised, and he went AI would you still call? Based on my "reads" I thought at the time it was plausible for him to have a 7... possibly (suited) connectors 67, 78 or A7, K7 etc.

If he's loose preflop then it is quite possible that he has the 7. I give him another min-reraise to try and find out. If he pushes I fold. I look for cheap showdown on the river. I'd need to see the action there to decide if I showdown or not.

I actually make it $2 -$2.40 on the flop. Thats a pretty coordinated board and you dont want to be giving cheap cards. $2 also builds a pot for you to bet bigger into on the turn.

Yeah you possible gave some odds on the flop.
The mini raise says you dont beleive him, it also means if hes had a bluff at it he now has to get serious on the bluff (something many lower limit loose players do not like to do simply becasue people cant give up TPGK, or becasue the really dont have the ballz to do it) So id block bet the river here looking for showdown. As for if he reraises? I guess you have to call on the river sometimes with top two here. No calling a push on the turn, give him credit for either the 7 or the balls to bluff it
(EDIT) haha. No i bet he has a king because you weak bet the flop, looking like AQ. Take showdown for most prices but anything that really looks like he has the 7.

Yeah, my best option would be to min-raise the turn to see where I'm at. Otherwise, I don't really have any idea where I stand. Same with the flop bet- had I bet closer to the pot, and he called, I would be less likely to believe he had only a 7 on the flop, and then I would have been more confident about min-raising him on the turn. Oh well, now I know where I messed up. Here's how the hand played out if you're curious or would like to make more comments:

Do you think if I had blocking bet the river (maybe $10-$15 or so) he would let me have a cheap showdown, or do you think he would have raised AI?

You gave him licence to push you off here by calling the turn. He knows then if he puts his chips in on the river you cant call. If you min raise the turn then he has to think youre serious about calling which probably means if he bets hard/pushes into the river you give him credit. I'd love to play this type simply because he'll make the mistake just once and ill stack him. I have to say despite the way he played it i would be tempted to call here having him on a bluff. Would he really push with trips?

He'd want to be really good LAG to pull that move. Its possible I suppose.

I would most definitly call a $1 bet into a $3.60 pot holding one pair and flush draw.

Bet this guy out on the flop!

On the turn, do what iRICHeyes says. Define his hand ASAP.
