This isn't a blind war anymore

Savvy33 had been at the table 20mins or so (he sat down with $50). In that time he had totally livened up a passive table. He was near maniac status. Betting $20 into $2 pots. Seeing every flop, etc. His last hand he had overbet the pot on the river and been called, he mucked.

This starts as a blind war but I take it too far. I completely believed he missed but I obviously wasn't listening. Let this be a lesson to you kids (hehe). I should have recalled Fnords words yesterday that he will splash around a little in blind wars but if the opponent wants to take it deep he lets it go.

I would just complete pre-flop. He's not folding very often, we don't want him to and we want a small pot with lots of money behind to minimize our FtoP mistakes (folding) and aggrivate his (too much action.)

Sometimes maniacs get hands (and that's how they make money). Don't ever get attached to bottom pair when you know there will be more opportunities to de-stack him later on

What was his pre-flop like? Did he re-raise a lot with what were seemingly marginal hands? When a maniac smooth calls a raise and then checks the flop, I get very, very scared (sometimes this indicates a monster or a strong hand, in an attempt to trap)

PF he was normal. He raised with good hands, limped all others. The problem is that my PFR disguised that he had a hand. I would expect a call from him with any two cards. Had I limped he “might” have raised though he is just as likely to check (trapping). Had he raised my limp I would have called “I don’t believe you” but it may have added just enough of a clue that he has something to get away from it.

Regardless, in the future I am not going to get crazy with blind wars.

He left the table about 30mins later. He built his stack up to 230ish with some made straights, then lost it down to $50 again. His last hand was against me where he bought the pot on the flop with an AI to a $15 pot. Flop was T high. I held AT, leading out $7 (a bit weak into this pot as he had put me off my game). I folded to his AI and he shows AJo and left the table. He did have the Ac for a backdoor flush draw though. <shrug>

...because you got spanked in a pot with bottom (or whatever) pair, you started folding TPTK to this clown?

Lol. Yes. I reverted to my weak ass (carefull) self. Baby steps Fnord. :)

Not so much tilt. Sometimes I just don't have enough gamble in me to play my A game....
