Saturday NCAA Card
Everybody ready for a monster card today? I plan to keep the looks going throughout the day as new games are coming up, but here are my early leans:
Iowa St. pk
Dayton +12
Charlotte -2
N Iowa -3.5
also worth a good look, imo:
St Bonnie +10
Penn pk
LSU - 6.5
Ok St +1
George mason - 5
Rice - 9.5
Boise St - 4.5
Pacific -2
Lots to look at, but a little leg work could make for a big day.
So, what's everyone liking?
-
So far, action on:
Iowa St +1.5 (1.5u)
Dayton +12 (1 u)
Cmon fellas, games are flying off the table - let's get the most out of this card!!
-
today's ticket
my picks so far:
Georgetown -5.5 1 u
UCONN -10 1 u
Tenn. -6.5 1 u
-
Nice looks, Hungry. GTown = easy cover.
I need some help on the early games.
Added Wright St. +11 (1u)
Need some good frontcourt play and some bench production, and hopefully some foul trouble for Butler - 2 out of 3 will get this cover.
<<edit>> Butler off to fast start - really need that bench and foul trouble now.
Added: Charlotte -2 (bought .5) 1.5 u
Big cards can be trouble for me, so going to back up and find max. 4 more good games and hit them the way they should be hit.

Just woke up... waaay to much alcohol last night... missed the louisville game wich was good bc i was going to take them
here is what im on so far
Villinova -5: 1 unit
Texas -3: 2 units
Tennesse -5.5:1 unit
UCLA -3: 1 unit
will probably make some more bets.. just starting to look at games.. UConn is lookin good for you guys

I got a ticket to the St. Joe's/Penn game, so I'm gonna do a quick write up before leaving.
UCLA -3.5
Northern Iowa -3.5
Cal Poly +2.5
----------------
I'm not going to bet this game, since I don't bet on my squad, but for those betting on Penn, I really think St. Joe's will cover at +2. if not win out right.
Despite having problems with Oregon St., I think UCLA will cover this game easily. They are 3-1 ATS on the road (21-12 ATS on the road over the last 5 years). They were 13-8 ATS v. teams with a winning record, and 7-3 ATS on Saturdays last year. Oregon St., on th other hand, was 4-8 ATS off a loss to a conference rival [Lost 70-72 to USC in OT].
Northern Iowa is 19-9 ATS v. teams with a winning record last year (Drake 11-10) and are 11-5-1 ATS this year [6-2 away]. Meanwhile, Drake is 3-3-1 ATS at home this year and 12-20 ATS at home since '01-'02. Northern Iown destroyed Drake 91-72 last week.
Cal Poly has been a great team for me so far this season. They are a great cover team (11-3 ATS) despite being only 5-12. CSU-Northridge is just the opposite (3-9-1 ATS). My girlfriend goes to CalPoly, so I'm making sure she goes for the sixth man advantage.
I could add a few more games as I keep searching...
-
Added
UCLA -3.5 1 u
Texas -3 1.5 u
Hoping not to need the hook in either game.
GL on that N Iowa pick Kilng. I just couldn't get on it because Drake has a nice roster (real good guards; 2 top 300 forwards) while NI is a little thinned out. Think all it would take is decent shooting from Drake.
Might hit Portland +19.5 at Gonzaga... Last 5 meetings, there hasn't been more than 16 pt diff, avg 12 pt diff. Portland only has 1 20+ loss this year, and Gonzaga only has 1 20+ win.
<<edit>> whew, Wright St. covered.
Adding Boise St -4 (bought .5) 1 u
Might pop it one more u.
NBA Char/Wash under 196
Anybody bet Loyola MD ? Quite a game.
Oh btw, I f*king can't stand Kansas.
-
Tx for getting me off the fence on UCLA, fellas. That's 2x now.
I'm pulling for your Vols.
Added Pacific -2.5 1 u
...but didn't find out until after that over 70% of the $ is on Pacific and the line hasn't moved at all. That makes me kinda nervous.
Itching to smack down on UVA +19, but don't think so.
-
awesome day
3 for 3 so far on the day......now i think im gonna put 2 units on texas at -4. everything i hear about the game points to a texas W.
-
Anybody thinking about taking Ohio St... i kinda like them but cant get myself to pull the trigger
Everyone seems to be rolling today! Days like this are great! lets get texas home and everyone will be happy
-
Nice going Hungry. Kilng 2-3. B's up.
F*ing 'Nova, that's all there is to say bout that.
Cmon Texas.
Added:
Loyola Marymount +1.5 1.5 u
I'm discounting the recent outcomes here, since Pepperdine is a different team, starting 2 freshmen and a soph. Thinking that LMU matches up nicely w/ Pepp's bigs - they're more experienced and playing true to position. Their rebounding #'s are better in conf.
Even if you call the frontcourt a push, LMU's veteran guards should get them this W. LMU avg 16 assists per game v Pepp's 9.
Found something interesting -- 42 is the key # in this game. Every LMU win but 1, they've shot +42%. every loss but 1, they've shot -42%. And, Pepperdine has given up +42% in every loss but 1. LMU started slow, but is now shooting 47% in conf. Pepp is giving up 44.4% shooting in conf.
Might look at one more late game.

I just got back from the Penn/St. Joe's game... what a game! I made it back just in time to make 3 more selections for west coast games.
UNLV -7.5
Nevada -7.5
San Diego +4
Went 2-1 in the day games... Metaxy, you were right about NIU... almost covered, though.
-
UNLV 67 New Mexico 56
San Diego 86 St. Mary's 78
Nevada 73 Hawaii 55
3-0 on the night games... 5-1 overall. How'd everyone else do?
-
started off good hitting my first two...then my last two both missed.. lost 1 unit on the day... on to sunday
27-19
+10.5 units for the year
nice night Kling!
-
Way to go Kling!
5-4 on the day, yet since my flat plays won and my bump plays didn't,
- 1 u.
