Tips on good books or articles?

I've been playing shorthanded cashgames, NL 5max at pokerroom the last couple of days, and been having a lot of fun! 14BB/100 for the first 2,5k hands, probably a huge upswing, but it's always nice starting like that. What's a decent BB/100 at 50NL shorthanded like btw?

It also seems to me that the players are much worse than those you find on full ring tables, is it like this in general or might I just have been real lucky? Seems the players are either loose maniacs or they are folding far too much.

Anyways, I'm wondering if there are any good books out there or good articles to recommend about this topic? I've been taking a look at the links posted in that sticky, but I wish to read more. Or just articles in general about laggy style of play, I'm testing that out, playing mostly by the feeling and I'd like some more theory background on it.

5ptBB is decent, 10 ptBB is good and maintainable if you pick your opponents well. There arent that many good articles about SH play. For theory background read ToP, and then play with the feeling.

HOH 2 has a section on shorthanded play. Its for the end stages of tournies but it gives you some ideas of starting hands etc. (The rest of its pretty good too).

I was looking too but didn't find anything better than this forum. The swings are pretty wild. I had the same experience when I started the beginning of the month. It was too easy. But, the calling stations, maniacs, coinflips and missed draws can really catch up to you. Table texture is very important. I'm getting better at leaving a table when I just can't beat it. There's just some tables that seem to punish you regardless of how you play. Move to the next one.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure variance will hit me, today I'm down a lot, was playing at tables I didn't manage to dominate, so I should probably just have moved on. But oh well, guess I learnt something. Anyways, I've read parts of supersystem, seems good so I will read the rest of it. And will try to get Theory of Poker as well, will probably have to order online, not that many poker books in the stores here.

I think I am the only one who thinks that the NL section of super system sucks. Poorly written and Doyle's rambling didnt offer that much new to me. There was some decent hand analysis but that was it.

thats beause most of his ideas have become the standard in higher stakes games! like leading with sets and strong draws, raising in position against weak players, and raising for deception

if you read it again you really start to see how alot of it is commonplace

Just read trough parts of it again, the NL secotion that is, and still think much of it is usefull, might be standard in higher stake games yeah, will see that when I move up there some time. And I'm still interessed in tips on more articles, guides, books or whatever on shorthanded play. Not just 6max, but 5max to heads up would be cool too:) I only play 5max tables these days and there are frequently only 4 at the table.
