Operation 2k for summer time!

Ok my goal is for May 1st. It might be a hard goal to reach but its a worthy goal. I would like to make 2k by May 1st, so that I can withdraw up to 1.5k for a car this summer. Having a car would be very helpful for obvious reasons. And I would also be able to take a babysitting job(family friends 4 days a week for 7 hours each day)

That is my goal. Right now I stand at $200, with $130 in Totalpoker clearing a sign up bonus of $100. I hope to finish that bonus and have almost $500. I will then follow the 25nl bonus whore guide.


Does my plan seem reasonable?

Sounds pretty reasonable but any car you buy for $1500 is going to create "operation fix my car" in a couple months. Is the $1500 going to be used toward a down payment or for the entire car?

I'm doing operation pay off my truck. I want 10k by year end. And by June 1 I'd like 4k. So we got similar deals.

You should be able to make it, specially if you still are eligible for a lot of bonuses.

Well, I have never owned a car worth more than 1500, my first car a dodge spirit was a beast(except if i got below 1/4th of a tank it randomly ran out of gas) it ran fine till my girlfiriends sister interupted a make out sesssion saying somone hit my car and my car was on the streewt and had got pushed 20 feet down the street and totalled and the asshole dorve off.

My other car was 1.5k and I got in about a year ago, but my 'rents gave it to my sister its been running fine except for the brakes which needed to be replaced.


So I think 1.5k will give me an ok car to use during the summer and depending on how my job/poker gos I could be lookign to sell it and buy a new car.


Yeah I think I am eligible for all signup bonuses except maybe party and Royalvegas and absolute.

Im up to 136.20 I had a great session but got sucked out on twice which brang it down to an ok session, but I didnt tilt and made all the right plays, just go rivered twice and a guy made a str8 on JJ vs my QQ. Im gona try to clear this bonus by Wednesday.

I cleared 300 hands of this so far, need to get in 700 more hands by Wednesday and then on to the next bonus.

Arg still need to clear 600 hands, today my alarm clock died and didnt wake me up at 7:30 it woke me up at 10 and displayed 0:00 for the time. My parents hate poker. I cannt get away with no getting a job this summer unless I was pulling in like 2k in money I take outa my BR and put in my bank account a month. My best session so far +29.51 in 1.5 hours 5 tabling, might not sound like a lot but 3 buyins seems good for that amount of time :)

Your plan can work, but i really don't recomend withdrawing money w/ a 2k bankroll. Why would you work at $3 an hour (or whatever your rate is) and then cash out, keeping yourself at $3 an hour. If you wait until you have atleast a br of $6000, you can be making a much much higher hourly rate, and not be wasting your time at a very low hourly rate. You are investing in yourself by not withdrawing now, and the return can be enourmous if you wait a while.

Do what you like, but the cashout syndrome is what holds alot of low stakes poker players back from becoming very rich.

wow that was a lil depressing I played 5 tables for 2 hours and made $-.08 All my AJ-K missed the flop, I got KK twice and flopped a set both time and everyone folded, it was like a ocudlnt make a hand for shit and when I did no one would play me. It sucked but what can ya do.

Didnt play all weekend from Firday to this afternoon got in two good hours and made 23 bucks. Still burning away at this 70 bucks I have left to clear. I have an itch for 25nl but I wotn let myself.

wow good session up $35 in 30 minutes at 10nl is pretty damn good, to bad the first hour of the session was -$25 so I only made $10 total but Im glad I came back. I pushed the tilt monkey down the stairs put on my headphones and played good aggresive poker and it paid off.

A few hands later same situation so I call and they show a set. Its getting fustrating but Ill just camp for nuts or 2nd nuts.

Got about 200 hands left on this totalpoker bonus if I had know it was contributed only I mighta gone elsewhere first its slow as hell but at least BB and SB count.


I think I might still have a chance at the goal, I just hope I can cash out sites pretty fast.

Its not really results oriented, its like play money, 50% of the time is a total bluff 50% of the time they have a hand at 10NL. I have seen people call 5 dollar all ins with T high on the river at 10NL so calling an allin with TPTK on the flop I think over time is probably +EV for 10NL.

Heya man I'm in a somewhat similar situation to you, except I've been profiting (With the exception of totally fux0ring Casino.net but that's for a different thread).

If I were you I'd reccomend casino whoring your bankroll to $800 if it's not already there so your properly bankrolled for $25 NL and play that instead of $10NL. I jumped up from $2NL and I can tell you right now I'm not having any trouble making upwards of 4BB/100. I'd imagine too that you'll be able to play more sites since $10NL is semi-rare as well as being able to casino whore a lot easier.

If your multitabling, which is what I'd expect I'd HIGHLY reccomend getting PokerTracker as well as PokerAce Hud. These two products have been a monumental aid in my play and improvement as a player.

After doubling my bankroll at $2NL to $100 and whoring up I'm now getting close to being able to afford that juicy new 20.1" LCD screen so I can quad table without overlap. Then once I reach $3000 I can start doing $100NL and then whos knows. The great thing is that your bankroll should increase at an exponential rate if you take little to none of it out. I don't plan on taking any out (unless its to reinvest in myself as a player) until I am able to consistently win $20/hour. Ambitous? Maybe, but with every dollar my bankroll increases so does my confidence.

The key to success is planning. I'm not a great poker player yet but I know if I plan accordingly some day I can be. Perhaps someday I won't need a job and money will be a non-issue since I've earned so much in poker. But I know I won't ever get there without a solid plan.

I wouldn't give up just yet. You're getting sucked out. It happens quite a bit. I dropped $150 of my bankroll the day before yesterday (with a $500 bankroll that is significant) playing SNGs. I got sucked out every which way to christmas. My personal favourite (or most anger inducing). I raise 6X BB with AA, some guy calls. Flop comes 332. Fairly safe. I bet big, he thinks for a bit, goes all in, I put him on JJ-AK, I call, he flips of 34os. He called a 6x BB raise (like 1/4 of his stack at the time) with 34os?

Anyway, the point is it happens. I withdrew all my money into my neteller and temporarily "quit" as a result of that $150 loss. Yesterday, after calming down I made back about $100 of that money. I played the same poker I played the day before, and the same idiots called me with the same stupid hands, but this time they didn't suck out. And the majority of the time they wont. I played 4 SNGs on river belle and won two of them (with some other SNG placings on party too).

Fundamentally if you get your money in when you have the best hand, you're playing good poker. It makes you angry at the time, but if you make good decisions and get sucked out you're still going to make money in the long run.

Tips from someone in a similar situation.

First of all you need $500. This is your biggest hurdle of all, because once you get $500 you can whore effectively, and 2k will be super easy to attain. I started over with 500 last week and im alread 75% there.

Another good thing about 500 is that you can play 25nl. Murdoc said 800 is properly rolled, I feel that 500 is sufficient unless your game needs a LOT of work. I am not that good at all (only been playing about 40-50k hands) and my winning rate at at 25nl on Party is at a stable 8bb/100, which translates to roughly 10 bucks an hour five-tabling.

As far as getting to 500, that's tough. You're just going to have to grind it out at the 10nl tables until then. Just play squeaky tight (13% vpip or lower) see 90% of flops when you have a pocket pair, etc. Read Aokrongly's stuff about super tight play.

Party and friends have ridiculously easy to clear bonuses. Party Poker alone has over 360 in bonus money that can be cleared inside a week if you put in the table time.

I used an instantbankroll promotion to recieve $100 at partypoker to start my bankroll, I dont know if I am elgible for their first deposit bonus.

I am in the process of withdrawing from riverbelle(god damn their souls ;)) once I get to $500 form casino whoring then Ill email Party and see if I am eligible.(Plus I had to lie to party saying I was 21 but neteller acount has correct info on my age would this be bad?)

Let me re-iterate. I think your goal for 2k is great, but please do not buy a car while you are making $4 an hour or whatever. Why did you go to college rather than go straight to working after high school? Most likely it was so you can get a good paying job later on in life. You are foregoing money and things you want now, so as to have a better job later. Poker is exactly same, except its easier to get rich playing poker than by getting a degree.

I have $420 and am currently playing on Pacific working my way upto $500. How would getting to 2k be super easy? I'm aware theres probably a lot of info on this in the forum, but I was looking for your exact strategy (what sites to move onto at what times etc) since you are playing the same limits as me and you have apparently almost made it.

Also is a Neteller account necessary (I deposited my $20 start by a card)?

If you can beat the 25nl on the party skins (by beat I mean like at least 5bb/100), then you can whore 2k in a fairly short period of time. Like I mentioned to PZ, its important to have an extra 1k or so to use to initiate bonuses at sites simultaneously, otherwise cashout lag will slow you down significantly. However, you will only be "gambling" with 500.

Got back to school today checked my neteller moneys in there from riverbelle, I deposited $100 at Starluck, and hopefully I can clear this while I have nothing to do. AND COME OUT AHEAD!!!

It would be a nice confidence booster to make $100 in a few hours.

Well I ended up depositting at Stars during their promo peroid. So I got a $30 bonus sitting their.

I think Im gona play 30 5.50s to clear it.

Already played one and was the 5-1 chip leader going heads up, I would dwindle him down and he would catch a hand and return to where we started. Finally I thought I has him A7 vs KT, but he caught his T. I was a lil ahead I caught AQ in the BB, he called I raised(pretty typical when he called) he pushed(had done this a few times) I called and he showed AK. Pissed that I let a chip lead like that go...

Im not sure yet, I might just wait till the end of summer since my goal is pretty far out of reach. This summer I should have a lot of time to play poker tho so we will see. Hopefully I can scrape enough together for something thats better than a clunker.

ya the NL25 is far more predictable play and hence more profitable. I fiddled around with NL10 for a little while when I first started and it sucked, so I just bought in for 500 and played NL25.

Yeah I killed 25NL at Pokernow. 20NL(and 50NL buying in shortstacked not the best idea while on tilt) at riverbelle killed half my bankroll tho thats including the bonus. Probably on track to hit $550 around the time my stars bonus is cleared from the 6.5s. Will get pokertracker and hit up some bonuses.

The 6.5s are working out good for me. I feel like I have a huge advantage on like the bubble a lot of the guys seem clueless. Plus I can start up two tables of it and no have to worry about them lasting too long.

I went on a huge heater and won every coinflip for a few hours and took two first and 2 seconds outa 6 SnGs. Then Lee Jones doomswitched me and I got two outered to hell for a day or two. Everythings cool now my ROI has dropped but what can ya do?

fuck, havent slept in 32 hours, Im feeling a monent of clearity and two tabling. Just had a nice hand hit.

88 I call guy raises 3Xbb I call. Flop comes AK2 I check he checks, turn is a 8, I bet out 3/4pot. he calls. 2 on the river. I bet out almost the pot he raises I push, he calls. He shows AA and I lost with a smile. No way to put a guy on aces with aflop like that, I figured AK trapping on the flop at best. Good hand tho.
