5/10 Bodog. I get dealt 77 on the button in a 4-handed game. LAG on my right, who I just stacked with my aces the last hand (he had middle pair which he turned) limps in, I raise to $40, 2 folds, guy on my right calls.
Flop comes 3s-4s-6d. the guy checks, I bet $55, he check-raises to $160. I call. Turn comes a Kh. Guy instantly goes all in for around $800. Call or fold? Also, would you play any differently had you not stacked him with aces the hand before?
seems like a weird line for a set.. If your image is tightish he might expect you to have a K but that insta-AI doesnt support the idea that he was really interested on the turn card. I am not sure whether to call or fold here, he might have a weird two pair but he is playing that way too fast IMO. perhaps 65/76?
I usually play the same, I might, on the other hand even check that flop for pot control against a guy I just destacked because he will be playing back at you a lot and I wouldnt wanna play a big pot with 77 w/o hitting a set..
I could see KQs being played this way.

I wouldn't call either. That's not a nice situation to be sticking your money in. I personally wouldn't raise it preflop either though. 77 is a hand I'd rather just fish a set with, even on button. If all unders come like this, that's when you start playing some poker.

Given that... is there merit to playing AK/KK like villian plays 69s in this hand? Clearly "all in will only get called by better hands" DOES NOT apply! I suppose we are all r/r pKK and probably AK pre-flop 4-handed.
I wonder how good villian has to be to call the push with 2nd pair here?
Power moves are relative to the player in their meaning obviously. Relative to the player and the villain tendancies, running image. Therefore I think a recognition needs to be multilayered. Make sure you know what he expects you to do before making a choice.Quote:
