KK, NL 25 6-max

Should I play this hand differently at any point? I'm pretty new at the table, so no read on opp. The hand before I raised prf and opp called and folded to my flop c-bet.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (4 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

SB ($42.82)
BB ($41.65)
Hero ($30.50)
Button ($23.70)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with K:club:, K:spade:. SB posts a blind of $0.10.
Hero raises to $1, 1 fold, SB (poster) calls $0.90, BB calls $0.75.

Flop: ($3) 2:club:, 3:heart:, 7:heart: (3 players)
SB bets $2, BB folds, Hero raises to $6, SB calls $4.

Turn: ($15) A:club: (2 players)
SB bets $3.48, Hero calls $3.48.

River: ($21.96) A:spade: (2 players)
SB bets $4.63, Hero calls $4.63.

Final Pot: $31.22

I am thinking he is on a flush draw, and/or maybe has Ax. I would re-raise on the turn to find out where I am at, especially when the Ace hit. If he calls would have to assume he is on a flush draw, or hit his Ace. If he re-raises your reraise then fold. Lots of people like to play Axs. A healthy re-raise on the turn may also force him to check on the river. If he bet again on the river, then may assume he has an Ace.

I'm going to put the SB on AXh, and he got aces instead of the 'nut flush'.

Either that or you are up against a set...but I'm going to stick with AXh.

How DO I play it? I'm a wuss so I fold on the turn. ;-)

Heck... I might even pull a 'chump move' and min riase the turn.

If he calls and then bets into you on the river---good nite.
If he Reraises on turn.... good nite.

.....but I most likely fold the turn because I'm beat.

Heck.. the SB might have quad ACES by now too :lol:

Why raise the turn to see where I'm at, instead of just calling and getting a cheap showdown? By just calling the turn bet and a moderate river bet I loose around the same as by raising the turn against a hand that beats me, and by just calling I give opp a chance to bluff at me, wich is more $$$ for me.

I'll obviously fold if the 3rd heart falls and opp bets hard.

Cheap show down or not....If you're beat you're beat.

If you think you ahead why NOT raise?

If you think you are losing.. then why CALL?

Where do you think you stand?

Betting out instead of calling gives you one additional way to win.

If I raise, and I'm ahead opp will fold all hands that I beat, except a flush draw. Whats the point in raising then?

Reasons for calling: I dont know if I'm way ahead or way behind here, but I get very nice odds to call the turn bet - I only need to win around 1 in 4 times to make a call +EV. Also, by raising I create a very big pot with a marginal hand and I dont want that (pot control).

I'm not saying calling is the correct move, but IMO raising is wrong - its either call or fold (without a read, with a read on a weak tight I might raise to push him off a possible hand). I'm currious though to hear what others have to say on this.

played fine.
With the flop bet id probably call down to the river here for showdown, but if id just been check- called on the flop i would have been more scared of the ace.

Looking back I do not RAISE when villian bets.

Fold or Call?--> I fold, because I'm a wuss :oops:

Opp had A9s of hearts - your read was correct sunfunbunch, nice one :)

I still think calling down cheap is correct - with the great pot odds I'm getting it's a breakeven play at worst.

--Yes, if hes bluffin or bettin a draw.

I play at Paradise (5 handed tables $10-$25) and I have seen alot people call a preflop raise and bluff at it if it came out all low rags. I have even tried this trick on occasion.

I think after reading this with a clear head I am not sure how I would have played this hand... (Raise/re-raise for info, fold otherwise)

But I am pretty sure I would not call it down...
Too hard to say without a feel for the table or other reads.
